Fractional Magic Power of an Adolescent Druglord

One day out of nowhere, water bodies decided to evolve. The bigger their reach the greater their evoltuion. Ponds and lakes barely turned into interdimensional portals, while the oceans gained consciousness. The pacific ate up the Americas, only for the atlantic to sacrifice itself to save some of its inhabitants. Now in the majestic ocean's place laid naught but goblins elves and other creatures of death. World order collapsed, boundaries became whores as they were regularly violated. The chaos settled when the southern and Indian oceans broke neutrality and allowed human beings power. In a world dominated more by fear than rationale, this power was often more revered than studied. The chosen ones became the guardians of humanity and the hunters of the children of pacific. The monstrosities that would enter the corporal world from ponds and lakes. Some decided to enter these ponds, only to find majestic dungeons that kept treasures, not gold and silver but augmentations to the gift of the Oceans. As humans studied the changes more, the world settled and society dependent on hunters was established. Schools and universities opened that would nurture fledgling hunters. And in one such university in new Seoul, we meet our protagonist Varn a 19 year old eco grad that has fractional magic power.

Varn's Pov

To beat the bully or to not beat the bully. Well Jason wouldn't be the last person to steal my hat but perhaps if I revealed my skills - if I could call them that, then tomorrow's presentation might go awry and well I would be summonless. Just like I am friendless.

I mean don't get me wrong, if I was taller I would also probably be mean to people shorter than me. But you know height is a genetic thing and not my fault so when I recieved the ocean's initiation I thought it was a second chance at life. A life that was would turn out worse .

The thing is people didn't really bully me that much in India, partly because I was a boxer and did some mma. I had overcome my disadvantages pretty handedly by being more skilled. And you know I am a charming individual with a handsome face. Maybe? Well I did date girls. Pretty ones . None of them would talk to me anymore. Why?

Well it is mostly because you see My mana level is not in the hundreds(average) or it is in single or double digits(very poor and poor).

No it is fractional. On the day before the exhibition it is 0.69696969..... .

What is the exhibition you ask? Oh it is my one chance . To impress the spirits of the ocean and get a summon that would help my magic. I want a fire spitting shark. but i would settle for a lesser fish. I only need mana.
