Chapter 4 Traveling.

So, I found this summon vine spell that allows to control nature vines. And the spell was easy to understand thanks to my ancient magic language skill called… English. But… yee remember that mana orb auto collect? Well, I did not… that thing had worked for over 5 years nonstop. And I thought that it only worked on how many times I can cast well… fireball before passing out.

Long story short when I summon the vine that was supposed to be one turned out to be a hundred and believe me, we counted… the living room and bedroom to mom and dad got destroyed. You would think I got yelled to dark land and beyond from mom… no. after mom and dad ran in and got me out from debris that was the roof and checking if I am okey. We looked up at this large vine tree with a yellow sunflower on top and mom say out smiling that now they could build a nursery room.

Mom had gotten baby sick after I grew up and well, I am not as easy to carry around anymore. So, I got kicked out of their room and they are rebuilding the castle. Dad discovered that after I accidentally planted the vine tree every darkness creature that tries to come close to the city cannot stand the aura from the vine tree. Word got around and the neighboring allied city want to have me over to try and make one there. So, dad figured why not just ship me off to school there for political reasons. So, I only get to use my room for a month. On the plus side it is a magical academy.

Mia pouted mad when she learned I was going to school and went home. Dad giggled to me looking shocked at him and told me he had arranged for her to travel along with me as a liaison. One of mom's request to keep me out of trouble I guess… so I am just waiting in my room until she finds out.

I open the divine nature book and start to study. -make sure you cast the spells in an open area for the first time- eh… yee let's skip the parts we already found out… there is lightning spell and fire spell… I guess that they are technically from nature… wait do that mean I can do all spells that is made from nature like fire comes from air, fuel, and heat… like lava spell… volcano… eh… let's just calm down Prince Armageddon… yee I am not going to be a villain that is chased out of this world…

Orb abilities hey this might be something… I read page and follow the instructions. Close my eyes and focus on the orb. my mind gets pulled inside it… I look around the huge orb that is as huge as the castle from my point of view. In the center there is a monolith the size and shape of a desk with the same dark monolith chair in front. I walk up and sit down and look around.

A green mist flow together and forms a green glowing female shape.

"welcome prince Austin." The green female smiles to me.

"m…mamma nature?" I ask stunned at the sight.

"yes, you can call me Mamma if you like. I kind of like it." Mother nature giggle at me.

"s... sorry I meant Mother Nature." I fix my posture looking her in shock.

"aww. I like mamma better. I am the creator of all life on this planet after all." Mamma smiled to me and sits down on a green chair in front of my desk with her hands placed elegantly on her lap.

"so, you are the one who pulled me in this world?" I ask looking worried at her.

"yes and no. i pulled your soul in to this world like normal but that was only because I found you worth living her. I had nothing to do with your death if that is what you ask." She said

"oh… but why me, I mean when I prayed." I blush and look down

"well normally we gods remove past experience from the soul, but I needed help too. And your call was pure and selfless act of kindness that no mother can resist. So, I granted you my blessing in hope of you helping me in return."

"the darkness?" I ask

"yes. The darkness is an attack from another god on my lovely home. It spread fast across the planet but for now I am able to stagnate it's power. The other god sensed your presence and tried to send the dark wolfs over to get you, but I was able to get my warning to you. But I was unable to cast a barrier true you on the city. Your nana interrupted the prosses. But then you made me proud with your plan. and was able to stop the attack without anyone dying. Nicely done little prince." Mamma giggle at me with a proud smile.

"so, this is a plot twist then?" I looked at her stunned and ask.

"hehe yes. but this is not like the novels you had on earth. This is a twist from our side to them. And If you will help me destroy the dark curse plaguing my home, I will reward you anything you like." She smiled at me.

"you already gave me the blessing of growing up with my mother and a loving father, I will help you just fine with that Mamma." I smile to her

"there you go again making me proud." Mamma float around me and hugs me gently. The warmth of her hug feels so good.

"you know mamma spoils me…" I giggle to her feeling relaxed.

"I am sorry, but I just needed to steal a hug from you. It feels nice to have someone to hug." She smiles down at me.

"you can steal a hug anytime you want Mamma." I smile looking up at her.

"I will take you up on offer then. But here let me teach you the monolith station. Before I need to go."

Momma teach me how to use the monolith station and that it could make any spell I could think of as long as I have enuf mana to create them. It was really simple and straight forward. The monolith would get the idea of the spell in my head and I only needed to adjust the power of the spell and the desired effect. I made vine blades that I could practice outside with her guidance she told me that even if someone got hit with them, they would only feel a light thump where it hit.

She stole another hug before she had to leave. I faced the monolith and checked the abilities.

poison immunity and darkness immunity.

eh… immunity… that means It cannot kill me… but even if that cannot hurt me it can hurt other. I went back to the creating spell and made a new spell called Cleanse that could clear the target from poison or darkness. i turn the skill on max and open my eyes. I cast cleanse on the desk and a transparent cloud of fog wraps around it before disappears.

"what was that?" I hear Mia's voice eco in my room.

"eh… Mia… you scared me for a second there." I look at Mia and said nervus to her. She just looks at me smiling awkward. I know that look It means mom or nana is close… yep, I see mom glancing at above Mia… the door opens slowly, and mom's face comes more and more in to view…

"mom… it is not what it look like." I say to her looking nervus.

"what is not what it looks like." She smirk as she walks inside holding Mia in front of her with both arms on her shoulder… you were thinking of lying? Yee trust me, that smirk is not a happy smile. Beside I can see Mia's face twitch glancing on her shoulders… mom saw the whole thing…

I stood up and did a formal bow to them. right hand up to the shoulders and bend slightly forward. Honestly did you not pay attention in ethic class?...

"sorry I cast a spell inside the castle again mom…" I said when I stood up straight.

"oh, your confessing your sin not one day into your new room." I see Mia's face relax. Mom lessen her grip.

"Mamma Nature though me safe spells to cast." I smile awkward to her.

"and she said you could cast them inside the castle?" mom ask me straight out. Letting Mia step to the side… I saw she stretch her shoulders looking awkward at me.

"eh… no… she said outside too…" I confess to her. Trust me she would have found out no matter how good of a lie I had told. Beside I don't lie to mom.

"and I though you have learned your lesson. Do I need to cancel the school or maybe just have Mia stay back to hold me company when you are at school flirting with girls…" Mom looks at me.

"sorry I will cast spells outside from now on. And I am not going to school to flirt with girls. Beside aren't you sending Mia with me to keep them away?" I just ask looking back at her.

"how… eh... I mean haven't you destroyed enuf of the castle already?" mom looks at me firmly.

"eh… but you're getting a nursery from my mistake…" I scratch the back of my head smiling awkward at her.

"yes. but I also have to send you away because of That." Mom ease up on her face.

"I will miss you too mom. beside you can always tell dad you need new baby cloths and come visit me." I walk up to mom and give her a hug.

Mom kneels down to me and hug me back. She giggles that she cannot use that every week just to get a hug from me. mom ask me to explain the spell I cast, and she smiles prowd when I told her I made it myself and hugged and kissed me… this is going to be a long month. Mom finely had her daily dose of cuddle and left us alone.

"this is going to be a long month…" Mia said sighing to me wiping her face. Yes, mom cuddled her two… I feel sorry for dad when we leave but he probably have forgotten how clingy she is…

"look forward to school?" I giggle to Mia.

"eh… how did you know she have asked me to keep girls away from you?" Mia look at me confused.

"I did not say girls. I said trouble… but it's mom we talk about, it is obvious she ask you to keep them away." I smirk to her.

"yee she said I could get away with Anything… she scares me sometimes." Mia looked stunned at me.

"sometimes? She scares me all the time… and I am her son." I giggle to her.

Mia asked me to teach her some spells, so we walked out to the garden where we had stacked an old broken and rusty armor on a wooden plank… Dad helped us and gave us the rusty armor… he loves to spend time with me when he have time…

Mia was good with fire magic, but she had not figured out the Orb training skill yet, so we used our free time to train her orb skill. When she got frustrated and tossed a fireball at the rusty armor target, I would calm her down and let her explain what she was struggling with and help her true the hurdles one by one. I learned that one hour inside my magic orb was 1 second in real life… that could come in handy if I needed some time to think.

instructing Mia boosted the growth of my magic orb… I made random spells because I was bored out of my mind when Mia started to make progress… one week before our departure to school, Mia unlocked her Magic orb skill in the middle of the new living room. She jumped up cheering like crazy almost making mom spill her tea. i gave her a hug congratulating her for unlocking the skill. Mom found the opportunity to steel some cuddles from her. Mia was stuck on mom's lap for an hour after that. She pouted at me teasing her at a distance before Nana picked me up and sat down next to mom… Mia laughed so hard tears ran down her cheek at me pouting on nana's lap.

The week ended to fast… I feel the warm hug from mom and dad as I am actually shaking in their arms… I mean going alone to another city… yee it sounds awesome and all but when you are about to step on that carriage… yee I ran to mom. I am only 6 years old…

"we will come and visit you soon dear. and you have Mia with you…" mom had lifted me up and placed me inside the carriage door holding my shivering hands smiling at me.

"but…" I tried to say something, but my mind just turned blank…

"I will watch over him." I feel Mia wrap her arms around me and gently pulls me away from mom…

"proud of you two." I tried to hold on to mom's hands, but her words made me slowly loosen my grip.

"love you mom and dad." I said giving up on resisting Mia pulling me inside the carriage.

I saw mom bite her lip as she looked at me with her blue eyes smiling at me. Dad walked over and closed the door… the carriage started moving… I stuck my head out the window and I felt Mia grab my shirt from behind holding me as I looked back at them. I smiled to them and waved.

"Good luck getting away from Mom's cuddles Daaaad!" I make the biggest smile to them and I saw mom smile happy at me. Dad smiled but turned pale as mom had walked up and laid her hand around him…

We exited the castle gates and was starting to move faster so I stuck my head back inside and closed the window. I sat down next to Mia and grabbed her hand holding it firmly as the carriage moved true the streets towards the outer gate…

"I thought you were going to jump out Austin. But the look on George was priceless." Mia giggled to me holding my hand as we exit the last city gate…

"I have never seen him that pale in my life." Charles said giggling to us from the other side of the carriage…

"this remind me of my first carriage ride… you and Tom took turns holding me as we traveled." I smile to Charles as I turn and look nervus outside.

"y…you remember that?" Charles said stunned to me.

"yes. it made me feel safe as I saw you smile at me." I said and saw him smile to me and blush a little as the carriage gained speed.

"don't you go and steal my dad." Mia pouted at me.

"I shared my mom and dad with you. Can I not borrow your then?" I smiled at her giggling.

"more like you used me as a decoy to escape you mom's hugs…" Mia laughed to me…

We laughed and joked around as we moved more and more away from home. I guess Mia was also scared she did not let go of my hand as I tried to find my book. She looked nervus out the window at the trees moving past us… I remember in my old world sitting in the back of a car looking out on the streetlights moving past the window… riding in the carriage looking outside was similar but also different… I prefer carriage… it had a cozier feeling to it.

When it got darker Charles put blankets over us and told us stories. It was nice to sit under the blanket and listen to the stories. Mia rested her head on my shoulder and I just rested my cheek on her head looking outside as we traveled. Charles traded places with Tom. And I asked why they did that. He smiled and told me to stick my face outside the window and look forward. I felt the wind gently flow across my face and the view was nice seeing the open road and nature around us. The air smelled so good and the sound of the horses pulling the carriage was special… it did not take long until I got cold in my face and turned back inside. Tom giggled when I handed him my blanket before crawling under Mia's blanket.

She pouted at me, but I just leaned my cheek to her, and she felt the cold. She moved closer to me and made sure I had enuf to stay warm. At night we stopped and rested the horses we were not allowed to walk out of the carriage, but we could look true the windows.

It had a creepy look to it. The trees had a glow from the campfire that they made. Tom explained that they use the campfire to keep animals away from us. He pointed at a torch that was laying ready in case wolfs or bear came. Mia grabbed my arm looking worried out into the woods. He told us that they rarely attacked so long we had the campfire going and told us not to worry.

We sat down and got food before bedtime. Mia and I laid head-to-head on the back bench. It was made soft for a comfortable ride and made a nice bed. Charles and Tom said they could make it into a full bed for me and it would only take a little time to do it. I told them it was good enuf and that it was better to have it like this in case we needed to move. Tom patted my shoulder smiling at me…

I think they just had to ask since I was royal and was expected to have high standards in terms of comfort… yee we both know I like the safer option. And in case of… well my luck, a darkness beast. We could use less time to be able to move. As I was laying there, I went into my orb and made my vine blade power lethal… better to be safe than sorry. Mia was a little scared inside the dark cabin of the carriage, so I held her hand and told her a happy story. She fell fast asleep. I didn't mind being out in the wild like this. I fell fast asleep.

I woke up early the next morning Mia and Charles was still sleeping. I sat up and saw Tom outside looking around. I quietly walked outside so I would not wake the others up. I walked up to Tom side and looked where he was looking. I saw the trees had large cuts in them like an animal had used its claws on them like a maniac.

"you're not supposed to be outside the carriage…" Tom said still looking at the trees.

"well, I made sure to have my spell on max power." I said to him looking around.

"well, that's scarry…" Tom said…

"yee those cuts are not normal." I said looking at him.

"I meant you turning you magic on max… but what do you make of this?... I have not seen anything like this before." He looks at me worried.

"um… these look like territorial marks… but everything about them make me guess crazy beast. My suggestion would be that if we hear anything unnatural, we dich the carriage and flee on horseback." I said to him looking around seeing all the trees around us was gashed. Some smaller trees was cut clean in two.

"yee… your dad was right. You are a good strategist. We probably should not stay here any longer." Tom said looking at me.

"I go and wake Charles up… um… I would suggest we stay as quiet as possible until we are able to move." I said looking serious at him.

He nodded to me and we walked back to the carriage. Opened the door and walked gently up to Charles and woke him up with a hush sign. He sat up and looked at me confused. I pointed at the trees and as he looked over his eyes widen before looking back at me. I made another hush sign and indicated that we are moving. He nod to me and exited the wagon quietly. I closed the door silently and sat down. Mia woke up and looked at me giving her a hush sign smiling at her.

She was about to sit up, but I laid my hand on her head and just smiled at her. She nodded and laid her head down looking worried at me. We started to move really slow and I saw Tom walk around with a can poring something on the wheels as me slowly moved. After he was done, he gently stepped up on the carriage and quietly came inside and sat down holding the hilt of his weapon.

He saw Mia was awake and he made a hush sign to her with a smile. I saw Mia nod before she looked back at me worried. I just cuddled her hair to calm her down. I looked outside from time to time. The markings on the trees got less and less until they were gone.

"the cuts on the trees are gone. Should be safe to talk now." I said to Tom and helped Mia get up.

"w…what happened? Why would you not let me get up?" Mia looked at me scared.

"there were cuts on the trees around us. And I did not want you to have nightmare from the sight." I smiled to her.

"so… a few cuts on the trees wont scare me." Mia smirked at me.

"they were on All the trees. Even I was creeped out." Tom said to her with a stern face.

"oh… thank you Austin." She looked worried at me.

"I know you would have gotten nightmare from it and you did not need to see that sight." I said and smiled.

The carriage started to move to its normal speed and the ride continued. we paid extra attention on the trees from now on. Mia kept training her orb skill to expand her mana power, and I sat down inside my orb on the monolith chair and relaxed. It felt good to have a moment to myself I started to think about when we had stopped on the side of the road.

I pulled a spell from my mind into the monolith desk. Normal spells was easy to make and straight forward. But making a spell from scratch was different. From what I have learned from the books mom had there were shield spells, but nobody have made a complete sustainable shield.

I started working on a dome shield. The idea was that it could sustain itself after being activated and could withstand a lot of pressure. At the same time, it would clean and cycle the air inside. With a full functioning eco system if needed. But getting everything ready would take some time. I would need to do more research on a lot. But for now, I was able to make a protection dome that could withstand pressure. The downside was that I needed to keep it active, witch drains mana every time it got struck.

I started to work on ability skill that I called magic sight… yee you try naming things when your head is filled to the brim with ideas… anyway I started with adding poison detection to it for obvious plot reasons… even mom had warned me about poison attempts and she had trained me and Mia in poison smells and how to detect them, and if in doubt… don't eat it. That was one of Mia's jobs too. Taste tester… fancy word for eat this and see if you die… she was unwilling to take the job at first, but I told them that my cleanse spell could cure any poison. I never learn…

Mom gave Mia a poison cookie without warning… it was in the middle of me explaining the spell to them, and she explained that it was part of the training to actually be poisoned... mom is scary. Anyway, Mia got paralyzed and I cured her… Mia instantly took the job after that. Oh… yee I had to eat a bite of the cookie to, they got stunned when I did not get paralyzed. Mom even looked sad for a brief moment. I am guessing she would cuddle with me when I was paralyzed… but my poison ability kicked in and removed it. Awesome. That's how I got the idea to make a new ability skill.

Well, the technical for making poison detection was hard but i made it so I would see glowing neon where poison substance is… that was the boring part adding all the poison compounds. Humans and nature have a lot of poison substance… and for obvious reason I included pheromones that give love effect… hey I read those crazy manga high school novels too!...

I added echolocation vision. That one was a bit tricky and I had to test it several times to get it working right. It works on sound and vibration and air flow… the air flow I tested sticking my head out of the carriage but the first time the sensory output made me go blind from the air moving until I deactivate the skill… it's true that when you are blind you get stronger senses… my fear kicked in high gear and I had to restrain myself to not blast everything away when I almost stumble back from the window and Mia put her hand on my back… I guess she is used to me being clumsy, because she did not say anything about it…

Well, you get the picture, and I am sure you laughed hard when I sat down blushing next to Mia… so the vibration was tedious… did you know the world itself actually vibrates? Well, I did not. but after thinking about it. the lava flow and planet core, you get the idea… and don't get me started back to the wind… grass, water, and trees… I had to tune that one for a while… and sound were the same or worse… everything makes noise… air, water, animals, a lot… and I thought I was going to have a permanent migraine when one of the horses farted… think about the sensory output of a fart… vibration and airflow naturally… hehe get it? Naturally… yee jokes are not my forte… um… right, and sound…

I was going to add more to it, but I think I do that when we get to the academy. I spent a lot of minutes inside my mana orb calibrating just the magic sigh… god vision?... eh… I name it later. But if you remember 1 second is 1 hour inside… well, I spent days if not weeks working on the spells…

Well, we stopped to let the horses eat and rest. It is mid-day, so we are allowed to walk around for a bit around the carriage. Me and Mia walk around in large circles around the carriage Tom or Charles is taking turn watching over us. Making sure nothing can get near us. It feels nice stretching the legs and after sitting all day yesterday. Mia look forward going to the city. As I listen to her talk about the shops and marketplaces Charles had told her about the city itself seems more advance then our city.

They have the academy there, so I guess they focus more on technology. I like listening to Mia talk. She can go on for hours if nobody say anything to her. But she also pay attention if you are listening too, even if I speak, she is able to read my face if I am interested in that subject or not. She asked me one time if she talked to much, but I just told her the truth that I like listing to her speak her mind. Apparently, Bella had commented that she spoke to much… jealousy I guess… or Bella don't like to listen… Mia had gotten asked why she was at the castle all the time. And rumors started to spread, but mom just send us down in to town to shop. Mia got the duty to explain everything to me around town and meet people working as a liaison. And the rumors stopped. Everybody saw that she was just working. Mom had told us to not play in the city like we did in the castle…

"are you daydreaming again?" Mia stated to me.

"eh… yee sorry I just remember when we walked in the city and you showed me around the shops." I smiled to her.

"pff stupid rumors. I even got asked if I was with child… can you believe that! We were 4 years old then… people really need to stop spreading rumors like that." Mia complained to me.

"yee I even heard dad had to make a statement explaining everything." I giggle to her.

"that was embarrassing. I had to stand next to him as the whole town looked at me… I even had to answer questions to people." I saw Mia held her red cheeks in her hands.

"oh… what kind of questions?" I smile to her.

"eh… if I liked you and stuff… Bella even asked if we had kissed. But George took over and explained to them that I was just working as a liaison in training to be your official liaison when I got older." Mia turned red.

"we are friends so there was bound to be rumors about us. Wonder if we will have the same issue at school." I smile to her.

"hmf… at least then you won't get so many suitors after you…" Mia puffed her cheeks to me.

"yee… I just hope I get enuf time to study my magic…" I look up in the sky as I walk.

"oh… did you work on a new spell? I did not say anything because dad was there…" Mia whispered to me smiling.

"eh… you noticed that. Yes, was working on a vision spell that allow me to detect poison." I just said.

"oh… can you teach me too?" she smiles at me.

"yes. once you are able to enter your Orb. It is an ability skill." I giggle to her.

She promised me that she would work harder on entering the orb like I have thought her. We walked back to the carriage and had lunch. We packed up and started moving again after that. Mia returned to her training and I just read a book. We travel until night and went to sleep.
