Greed

"Did it even come to your mind to tell her?" Eos asked whilst they were walking back to their classes. "I planned on telling her when she forgets about it." The girl sighed, knowing that the it would take a large amount of time before the sweet old lady forgets. "She's never gonna forget him, and you know it." Aki added, patting Azeria's back as a sign of empathy. She muttered a small 'I know' before going into their respective class and waving goodbye to the three. "You can't let her hang on to the idea of him coming back." Leroy said before walking away to his seat and leaving Azeria at the doorway.

She went to her seat as soon as she saw their teacher walking through the hall, sighing as she did so. Their classes started and ended with her making up a script in her mind about what she'll say and how she will, anxious of her grandmother figure's reaction. She couldn't even feel her classmates' glances to her while she was so deep in thought. Leroy came up to talk to her while their other teacher was late to their class, only receiving a small 'go away' from the girl as she stared distantly at nowhere. Soon after, all their nine subjects ended with her looking far out gone, her teacher's not minding her state.

"Stop thinking about it too much. She was rooting for you but she'll understand once you explained what happened." Leroy finally snapped the girl out of her thoughts, washing away her worries with a few words. "I know." She said with a breathy chuckle while turning her attention to the male seated beside her. "No you didn't." He said, hitting her head with the notebook placed on her desk to make sure she was fully aware of her surroundings. "Ow! Why'd you do that?" She asked loudly, irritated while rubbing the stop Leroy hit. "Do you know that you missed two assessments and a quiz, and basically ten questions directed to you while recitation?" He squinted his eyes at the girl, showing his disapproval of her dozing off whilst awake. "Yeah, but they're pathetic suck ups that'll give me good grades as long as my family gives donations." She said, bored.

Never did she like the way people gave unfair treatment to those privileged. She made a way to not accept those gestures whenever she can. Like the time when she gave away her award when she did a very lousy painting at five.

"I thought you didn't like it when they did that?" Leroy asked, making Azeria nod as a yes. "I'm a changed woman." It made Leroy hit her again with the notebook. She glared while hissing at him. "You're named after a fox. Stop hissing like a snake, and stop acting like one." He said, glaring back at her. "I'm not a snake, nor am I a fox." She grabbed her notebook from his hands and stuffed it in her bag. "You are. You're the greediest person I've ever seen. So, yes. You are." The two looked at the door's direction, their three other friends standing there. "I'm not greedy." She rolled her eyes at the twin who was smirking at her. "You took our toys back when we were kids, even when you had your own. You took our food whenever yours weren't enough for you. You join all the contests knowing that you'll win. You managed our basketball team knowing that we'll win without any problem with you there. You still study hard even when you know they'll still pass you even if you get constant zeroes. Plus, the rumor going around before you left proves more of it." The other twin said, his hooded eyes piercing through you. "I have my reasons." She bluntly said, slinging her bag on her shoulder and proceeded to go outside the room. "We know." Eos sighed, draping his arm on her shoulder, Leroy doing the same.

"Oh, by the way, we need to go the gym." The merry twin informed her of the plans the four had beforehand. "For what?" Her brows furrowed as she asked the question. "We need you to evaluate our skills since you were gone for a year." The tedious twin answered. "You guys will win even if I don't watch you and tell you you're great with a matching pat on the back." She scowled, finding the said activity unnecessary.

"We." Eos said, his body slightly stiffing. "What do you mean 'we'?" Leroy asked, looking curiously at the other male. "She said 'you guys'." He pointed out, looking at the girl beside him. "We'll win. You should've said 'we'." He corrected. They all stopped walking, only looking at Azeria curiously. "You're our manager, you're part of the team." Aki said, his usually cheerful tone slightly deflating. "You'll still be our manager, right?" Leroy asked, removing his arm from her shoulder and placed his both hands inside his blazer's pockets. "Never thought you'd still want me as manager, but okay. Thanks." She smiled slightly, making the four boys give her a pat on the back. "Ow! Watch it." She said, rubbing the part where they hit while they started to walk towards the gym again.

"Good to have you back, Ze-ze!" Aki greeted. Azeria's brown narrow eyes became even more slim as she squinted them as she heard the old nickname come out of her friend's mouth. "That's a pet's name. Stop calling me that." She said coldly, glaring at the four chuckling boys. "It's a sign that we aren't sucking up to you, appreciate it." Leroy said, patting her back rather hardly once again, making her wince and hit him back. "Shouldn't she be dismissed from her duties as manager?" A voice asked, making them look at its direction.

The boy in front of them was one of the members of the basketball team, their teammate. "If you can find a replacement, then sure, she'll be dismissed." Eos said as he crossed his arms on his chest, his muscles flexing as he did so. The male in front of him seemed surprised but still kept his posture in front of the five. The four others look at him with disbelief, him just shrugging it off. "But every other girl in this school will just fawn over us, which will boost your egos. You'll eventually it eat all up, thinking you guys are the best and, maybe, you'll think you won't even need training or practices anymore, which will be our downfall. And if you hire a boy, he'll be just scared and intimidated by us, which will lead to the same thing. Plus, I'm sure you can't afford hiring someone outside the school for manager." He added. The boy in front of them looked red as a tomato from embarrassment. He just muttered a small 'sorry' before scurrying away from the, now, laughing five.
