"Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa!" I shouted as I saw them sitting in one of the most beautiful garden I have ever seen.
They all gave me a hug. A very tight one. I hugged my Dad, I missed him so much. Eversince he died because of pneumonia, I don't remember being spoiled that much. And Grandpa, who dearly loved Grandma died of old age, being followed by Grandma 3 years later. And mom, who suffered a deadly heart attack.
They all looked at me, Mom was crying.
I then looked back and saw Azrael turning away giving me the privacy I needed.
"Live your life at the fullest, darling. It's precious." Dad said.
Then I nodded. He then git something from his pocket and then There I saw this beautiful necklace.
"That's our family Heirloom, I wanted you to keep it." Dad says.
Then I gave all if them a tight hug.
"Grandma, I have your house back.'' I proudly exclaimed.
Grandma just smiled while leaning onto grandpa. I looked at them, they look sweet. They look perfect.
Mom then looked at me and kissed me on the forehead.
"Follow your dreams, Astra." She then pointed in my heart.
"We will always be here." She whispered.
Then they started to loose their color. Barely visible.
"I-I don't understand, where are you all going?" I asked.
"We chose to stay in Elysium, instead of being reincarnated." Dad answered while his face disappearing.
"We love you honey, and we will always will." Dad added until there was no sign of them.
I broke down, tears racing to fall. Does that means, They wouldn't be reborn? Then I felt arms embracing me.
"Sorry, I cannot make them stay longer." Azrael apologized.
"Thank you." I said. He was quite taken aback with the response.
"Thank you for letting me meet them for a little while." I added.
Then He broke away to the embrace and sat beside me in the grassy field.
"You won't be able to see me again after your last wish." He calmly said.
"Why?"
"That's is the end of the contract. After You make your last wish tommorow, And would wake up you would no longer meet me again." He explained.
This can't be. He shouldn't be gone, Azrael is the only one I'm left with.
"But you shouldn't go! That's not fair." I shouted.
"Fair happened when you summoned me in this dimension to be able to collect souls so I had to return the favor."
He was facing the golden the sunset and I was here staring at him.
"You should really go now, You'd be late for school." He reminded. But I didn't listen.
"I wonder about a lot of things." I say.
"I wonder about why the sky is blue. I'm curious of how someone came up with the idea of school. I want to know everything about anything and anything about everything."
He turned to me and gave me a soft smile. "I daydream all the time, honestly."
I look at him but broke away from the gaze and continued what I was about to say.
"But most of all, I wonder what it would feel like for someone to love me back."
"What are you talking about?" He turned to look at me. But I was busy feeling the breeze, it's been years since I get to relax like this.
"Astra, you should really go now." He warned.
But What I did was something out of my control, my body wasn't listening to me and it feels like it has a mind of it's own. I wrapped my arms around him, my head plastered in his chest.
"Let me Stay." I whispered.
Out of his control it was Azrael's cue to kiss me, he wrapped his finger in my hair; enclosing them around my neck. Hard. Just enough to feel my pulse, the quiet beat beating.
I won't be always this vulnerable, this open. Right now, my trust is in the palm of Azrael's hand.
Then he pulled me closer.
He placed a gentle thumb on my bottom lip while I was still there whispering, "Let me stay for a little while."
"Okay." He breathed. Then he closed the inches between our breaths.
.....
I woke up, this is the last day I'd get to wish. I'd get to write a letter.
I have grown attached to Azrael, and I don't want to loose him. Not after the final night. The final dream.
I have finally decided something.
I quickly got out of my bed and prepared for school, the necklace that dad gave me was really placed on my neck. I breathe and put Dark back to his cage and decided to dress up.
Upon arriving to school, I met Chanel. There she is, I quickly gave her a hug and she hugged me back. And then I gave her the cage containing Dark in it.
"You're giving me a cat?" She asked confused.
"Yes, take care of him well."
She nodded and we headed inside the school. There I met many people asking me who I was with last night.
And there I always replied.
"He was someone I really love."
And they would go silent and leave.
After everything in school I decided to walk Chanel back in her dorm. There I met Zach.
He didn't look happy, but he didn't look angry either. It's just a look of disappointment upon seeing me. I forgot about his invitation last night that's why he doesn't like to throw me a glance.
But his attention was grabbed quickly when he saw Chanel placing the Cat's cage in front of him.
"You brought a cat?" He asked Chanel.
"No, Astra gave him to me." Chanel said. Then she invited me inside her room.
I followed Chanel and decided to talk to her.
"Look Chanel, I love you as a bestfriend and we've been together since 7th grade." I started, she then looked at me with worry.
"What's with the dramatic approach?" She laughed off.
I shook my head.
"Nothing, Nothing. I just decided to give you this, take care of it." I said while handing her the Heirloom that dad gave me.
"That's our family Heirloom, I'm afraid I couldn't take care of it."
"Astra, this is so precious! I couldn't take it." She was about to give me back the necklace but I refused to take it.
"No, You'll be the next owner. Promise me you'll take care of it." I asked.
She looked at me like there's something wrong.
"Is there any problem?"
"No, not at all." I replied trying to hide my sadness.
"Well if you say so then." I then gave her a sweet smile.
We ended up enjoying ourselves and talking about things when I decided to leave.
"Take care if Dark, okay?" I requested.
"Okay, see you tomorrow." She says.
I just gave her a genuine smile and proceeded to exit her dorm.
While walking away, I couldn't help but apologize to her secretly in my mind.
I'm afraid that there wouldn't be any tommorow.
I'm sorry, Chanel.
Before heading home completely I decided to head inside a pharmacy.
And as I carefully head back to grandma's cabin, I sat on my desk.
And began writing my letter.
.....
There he is, standing in front of me with a worried face.
I walked until I reached him.
"What are you doing, Astra!? You better head back!" He shouted.
"No! I won't exit that door again!" I shouted.
Then I saw the door in front of me being destroyed, The was light.
"Please." I cut off. Then I saw the softness in his eyes.
"Please let me stay with you...." Then I saw the door shatter into million of pieces.
And then Azrael's face began tearing up and looked at me.
And then instead of shouting at me. He hugged me. Tears streaming down his face. He was no longer building up his walls and he was there crying in front of me.
"Welcome back my Eve." He greeted.
Yes. My intuition was right. This man right here was my Soulmate Adam, trapped in Purgatory to repent all of his sins by guiding the dead. Earning the title of the grim reaper.
And he was here all along, waiting for the reincarnation of his first love, Eve which was me.
...
Dear: Azrael
My final wish is to stay with you and to be reincarnated with you. Let's meet again in our next life.
-Astra.
—Finale End—
