To any quiet place

At times like these. Winter felt confused. Not because of him but at herself. She had willingly dragged himself into this mess. She had met him only four days ago and now her heart isn't hers.

Peering at him. She suddenly felt overwhelmed with emotions.

"What are we?" Winter asked in a whisper but he was able to hear her.

Putting the wine glass down. Aiden stood up and now he was standing in front of her. Cupping her face. Aiden bent down and kissed her forehead.

"Whatever you want us to be. If you're asking me. I want us to be more than this." Aiden said, placing his forehead on hers.

Winter closed her eyes, unable to look into his eyes anymore. She felt ashamed of herself. She was lying to him. This won't be his words if he found it the truth. The truth about her addiction and that she was using his money.

Tears filled her eyes. Winter felt angry at herself. She hated herself.

"Please excuse me." Winter said as she stood up pushing him in the process.

Aiden frowned watching as she walked out of the kitchen.

Winter entered the bathroom and shut the door behind her. Leaning her back against the door. She let her body fall to the ground. Tears fell from her eyes.

She hugged herself. Feeling scared of herself. Winter tried to not cry out loud. Covering her mouth. She sobbed silently. Her heart ached.

She couldn't tolerate this pain any longer. Standing up. She opened the cupboard and took out a small bag. Unzipping it with shaky hands, She took out everything inside it and started to pepper her fix. Once it was ready. She brought the needle close to her arm and Injected it.

It was the best way to forget the pain. the heartache. the tangled feelings she wasn't able to Prosser.

Ten minutes later. Winter stepped out of the bathroom walking towards the kitchen. Stopping at the entrance. She saw Aiden placing the leftover pizza in the refrigerator. He had washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen counter.

Such a sweet man. She thought to herself.

Aiden turned around and saw her standing there. Her mood seemed to have gotten better. He doesn't even know what got into her earlier.

"Let's go out." Winter said, staring at him.

"To any quiet place." Winter replied, feeling his fingers run through her short hair.
