I woke up groaning as I stretched and rubbed my eyes but froze when I realized I wasn't the only one in bed. Both Cal and Leana were on either side of me. Their long hair splayed out around them like halos. I somehow managed to get out of bed and dress without disturbing the two beauties.

I sighed in relief. If Lena and Cal woke up, I would have to spend all day putting them back to bed. And while I didn't mind such activities, I had important things to do today. Walking down to the safe room, I gathered the three devil fruits in my possession.

By the end of the day, all three would have new hosts. I the lab, I piled up the fruit and looked at them. All my preparations had led up to this, the long nights laboring away to make sure I had the highest chance of succeeding. Using the Serum to survive a black hole was the final test. If it could mutate my body to survive gravitational forces that could bend light and space, it should serve my purposes.

Walking to what I called the heart of the ship, just underneath the steering wheel. Taking the Horo Horo no Mi, I activated my power infusing the devil fruit's powers into the boat. The ship groaned as it started to change, but before it could finish, I administered a double dose of Darwin Serum and tried to infuse the Suke Suke no Mi.

I felt a barrier, but it was weakening by the second in a losing battle. Like the ocean, I slowly wore down the stone wall, and I came flooding in. The vessel absorbed the devil fruit and wailed as ghosts started to pop up around me.

Instead of the cartoonish ghost, Perona had these were more deadly looking. They almost looked like gremlins, except they had white fur with long nails. But their bodies were visibly transparent. They all looked at me before laughing and disappearing the same way they appeared.

My link to the ship had strength, and I could now control its new functions summoning ghosts at will and turning the boat and its occupants invisible. "Your name is now Akuma, the devil ship." In response, Akuma wailed in my mind in approval.

"Okay then, I guess It's my turn." Picking up the Yami Yami no Mi, my heart started to thump in my chest, "Here goes nothing." The same feeling washing over me as the Darwin Serum rushed through my veins.

I then took the tiniest bite of the devil fruit, the rotten and bitter, somehow ten times worse than I remember. My body then erupted in agony, and I doubled over. My vision started to fade, and something deep inside me began to tear.

My vision went completely black, but I didn't pass out. I was in that same place again, but this time I could see everything. The world then shook as a shockwave threatened to tear space and time. As the wave passed, I looked to where it came from, and my mind short-circuited.

Two titanic figures clashed in the air. They were so large I could even begin to understand their size. They took turns attacking each other, slamming their bodies together, creating a sound like thunder.

I then realized what they were, "Sea Kings, their giant Sea Kings, but that would mean." As my mind was making new revelations, the titans' sounds slowly faded out, and my vision started to recede.

I opened my eyes back in my natural body. I was on the floor, covered in sweat. Slowly getting back to my feet, I tried to calm my racing mind and heart. I had unlocked another piece of the puzzle, "The devil fruits were once living creatures similar in nature to Sea Kings. Are they this planet's version of the dinosaurs?"

I stopped thinking about it for now as I felt a similar feeling rush through my body. Making a come here gesture towards one of the gold bars, the metal shook before flying into my palm. I then opened a portal to the void before taking the bar in and out, "It's like having an infinite inventory."

Trying not to go total geek, I quickly absorbed all the gold into my void space. I would never have to worry about a thief coming in the middle of the night and taking my hard-earned cheddar.

When I left the safe room, I found that most of the ship was in chaos, I now had a keen sense of where everyone was on the boat, and if I focused enough, I could even hear them. Running up to the deck, all four of my crewmates turned all their mouths, opening to ask me a question.

"Wait!" I screamed, making them pause, "Let me explain what's happened. This morning I was able to make Akuma absorb two devil fruits. So it can help us on our journey."

Ace cleaned out his ear, "Sorry, I think I heard you wrong. Did you say two!?" I nodded, my smile splitting my face, "Well, what did you think all my work in the lab was for." They all looked at me for a long minute as they realized just how much of a genius and psychopath I was.

"So what do we do now?" Evos asked while scratching the back of his head, not fully grasping the situation. "I made a promise to all three of you. We would make those who put us in bonds pay. So that's just what we're going to do."

Cal raised her eyebrow, not fully believing me, "And just how are we going to accomplish that?" I smiled evilly, "By attacking their headquarters, of course, but not without a few preparations." While they were not entirely against it, my subordinates had more than a few questions and doubts. But soon I would show the world just how much they needed to fear me.
