Merlin I

Even though it's been years I wonder how I agreed to this. How I have decided to help Arthur when he is everything I should hate.

Maybe it was because of the way he talked about his sisters and he seemed to genuinely care for them. And even his parents even though they are bastards who could rot in hell for all I cared.

maybe it's because I thought he could make a difference, make life easier for people like me.

Or maybe I was just lonely and isn't that sad to think about, how I have signed off my life (figuratively) to this man-child.

And I am here helping him break into a poor kid's house.

"It's technically my sister's house too." Arthur had said.

"Besides we did try the normal route", he says shrugging like breaking into your sister's home while her fiance was sleeping was normal.

It's hard to complain seeing as this is probably one of the least weird things I have done for Arthur.

As soon as we were in, he started to complain about not having any coffee. And threw a tantrum till I had made some for him. I gave him the coffee without adding any sugar just to watch him suffer as he rushed to dump sugar in it. And if I smiled, no one but me would know.

We didn't have to wait long before the girl had rushed into the kitchen. She looked disappointed, clearly was expecting someone else.

she stared at the coffee in Arthur's hand before seeming to notice me. She just stares a lot.

"I apologise for using your kitchen without permission, Mr woods wouldn't stop complaining about not having any coffee to drink," I say, calling Arthur Mr Woods would never stop sounding wrong, but unfortunately that was the protocol.

"you wound me, Merlin! you know I can't survive without my morning coffee." Arthur said as he did almost every morning. I try my best to not roll my eyes at that.

They start talking and my eye wanders around the place for a bit trying to piece together who Nyx is or rather was before she had died. The Nyx from Arthur's stories was a little chubby kid who was as rebellious as she was kind, but this Nyx was a young adult who had made a life for herself with a partner. There was a mix of books on the shelf from different genres, a chess game that was half-done, a few clothes on the chair that clearly didn't fit Mac, and not to mention the amount of pictures on the walls.

If Nyx was hiding she was doing a terrible job at it because as soon as you find the house it's game over. The evidence of their life is all over this house.

I focused back on the conversation that was taking place,

"You break rules, color out of the line, and I need that," Arthur said and I wanted to snort.

"I ain't helping you break the law," the kid said, clearly getting annoyed at Arthur and at least I could understand that.

Arthur looks at me and I stare back with an expression that I hope translates to "This is a you problem."

"Less rule breaking, more like taking advantage of the loopholes," he says and I am tempted to bang my head on the wall or maybe his, I am not sure. The kid looks like she might be thinking the same.

Then they start talking about Arthur's sister and the anger on his face reminds me of when we had first met the imposter.

how his hands were trembling a bit as he forced himself to hug and talk to her like she was indeed his sister, later when we were in his room and I had cleared it of not having any bugs, he had complained and yelled so much. It had been so long since I had seen him have such an outburst. It had been too long, too long since the unjust of the worlds tore him down.

I remember how surprised he had been when he had seen the report of the explosion. There was only one casualty, and it just had to be his missing sister.

There were so many questions Arthur had, almost none I could answer.

All I managed to do was find the address of where his sister now lived, I didn't even know she had a fiance till I saw the ring.

so many questions and so little answers. It's truly surprising how quickly we had gotten sidetracked. Arthur has completely forgotten all the plans. His sister never was part of the plan but if it helps take down his parents then I guess it doesn't truly matter.

Merlin really wants to smack Arthur's head, sadly he does not get to do it
