All She Felt Was Disgust.

Mi Cha stood by the door of Nana's room, staring at Tan, "What's wrong with him?" She asked, turning to look at Mi-Ok.

"I have no idea. He has been this way since he returned from the wedding yesterday. Only to find out Min-jung had left without saying goodbye," Mi-Ok said sadly.

"Why would she do something like that?" Mi Cha asked no one in particular. Could it be because of the fight she had with Jin-A? She asked herself as she moved closer to Tan. She noticed a crumpled sheet of paper lying on the ground across the bed and went closer to see what it was.

Tan, who had been lying down without saying a word to anyone, followed her movement with his eyes and made a dive for the letter before she could pick it up.

"What's in there?" She asked, giving him a questioning look.

"Nothing of interest. What are you here for?" He had asked without glancing at her as he walked out of the room. He didn't need her or anyone else nosing into his affairs.

"I came to see your girlfriend," She said, following him out of the room.

"As you can see, she's not here. She left already," He said in a tone that told her he wanted to be alone.

Mi Cha got the message but didn't take it; this was what having a sibling meant. You can't be left alone simply because you want to be alone. She plumped down on the couch next to him, saying nothing.

"So, why did she leave? Did you guys have a fight or something, or did she leave because of her fight with Jin-A?" Mi Cha asked, raising her brow at him exactly as his mother always did.

Maybe he needed to talk with a female to understand how their minds worked. Just perhaps having a sister could be helpful to him right now. He looked at her, wondering if he could open up to her.

"Can I confide in you?" He asked, making her look at him with delighted surprise. She had always wanted a close relationship with her brother. This could be an excellent opportunity to bond with him.

"Sure. You can tell me anything. My lips are sealed," She said, sitting up to give him her complete attention.

"You can't tell Mom about this, no matter what. This has to stay just between the both of us. You have to promise me," He said, looking at her earnestly.

"Lips sealed. I promise," She said, placing her hands over her chest.

He considered her for some seconds and then handed over the letter to her.

She took the letter from him, and as she read, her eyes widened in surprise as realization dawned on her, it was a goodbye letter from his supposed girlfriend.

"This week? Job? Paid guest?" Mi Cha asked as she turned the letter over to check if anything was written behind the paper. When she found nothing, she turned to him.

"You just met her?" She asked with a frown.

"I hired her to be my girlfriend," He said, too ashamed to look at her.

"Awww," She said pitifully. She couldn't imagine how difficult the thought of attending the wedding must have been to have made him hire a girlfriend.

She moved closer to him to place her hands over his shoulder. This was what sisters did for their brothers.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know it was that hard on you," She said, not knowing what else to do.

"So, why are you devastated she left without saying goodbye?" She asked, giving him a puzzled look.

"I'm in love with her. I told her about it, and she turned me down," He said in a defeated voice.

"Well, judging by the tone of this letter, I think she likes you too. So maybe you need to call or see her to convince her about your feelings for her," She suggested.

"It's not that easy. I don't have her number; I don't even know where she lives," He said, feeling stupid.

Mi Cha gave him a shocked look. She had always seen her brother as a brilliant person; she couldn't believe he had lived under the same roof with someone he was in love with and failed to get her number. The thought made her chuckle inwardly; even the smartest of us all could become stupid once feelings became involved.

"Why? Why didn't you take her number? How did you even meet her?" Mi Cha asked, "Hold on a second. Didn't mom say she was a realtor based in Seoul? Was that a lie?" Mi Cha asked, suddenly intrigued. She had always thought things like this happened only in movies. But to believe she was getting involved in a love story like this was simply mind-blowing. She couldn't believe her brother was capable of such a level of deceptiveness, and to consider their intelligent mother had bought the whole story. WOW!

"Can I know what is amusing you in this situation? Why are you grinning?" Tan asked, glaring at her when he saw the smile on her face.

"I'm sorry. I'm just so excited about this," She said when she saw the look in his eyes.

"I'm so glad you find my love life, or the lack of it, exciting," He said, standing up to leave. So much for having a helpful sister, he said to himself.

"I said I'm sorry. Don't leave. Let's think this through together. I came because I wanted her to help me get an apartment in Seoul. What are the chances that she's a realtor?" Mi Cha asked, taking out her phone.

"I think she is one," Tan said, returning to his seat.

"Then maybe we can search for her online. You know her name; you know her face. That should be simple," Mi Cha said with a smile.

**********

"You're so beautiful," Ji-Tae said to Nana as they walked back to the car after dinner. It was time to make his move. Immediately they got to where the car was; he used his body to trap her against the car door. He leaned in to kiss her, and she closed her eyes, she waited for the rush of desire and arousal that always swept her every time Tan kissed her, but she felt nothing.

She kissed him back, waiting for the feeling to envelope her, but all she felt was disgust. She stepped away from him with disappointment and anger at herself.

"Please take me home," She said, turning to open the door herself. She could not bear to look him in the eyes.

"Baby, what's wrong? Did I do something to offend you? I'm sorry if I did, please," Ji-Tae pleaded as he joined her inside the car.

"No, it isn't you. It's me." She said, feeling terrible. How could she be hurting Ji-Tae, who has been nothing but pleasant to her since they started dating? Ji-Tae has always been so understanding and supportive. How could she have cheated on him and lost her heart to a total stranger in one week?

What was she going to do about this? She had to talk to Min-Jung. Immediately after she resolves her issues with Min-Jung, she will seek Min-Jung's advice.

"What about you? Are you feeling unwell?" He asked, giving her a concerned look.

"Yes, my head suddenly aches. I need to rest," She lied, closing her eyes as tears gathered. She had always hated two-timers, and it broke her heart that she was suddenly one.
