" Having a party without me?" A deep voice echoed. It was Andrew.
Everybody turned around to stare at the uninvited guest.
" Oh! Andrew is here. He's my guest I invited him over for dinner, I hope you all don't mind?" Shirley said and everyone was left speechless. Or they were just wondering how he found them.
" What is he doing here?" Josh asked.
" I just said, I invited him." Shirley said glaring at Josh.
" He should be here!" Josh said and was about to throw him out but Damon held his arm and nodded towards him to calm down. The atmosphere was cold all through out the meal. It felt very awkward. Josh wasn't even eating, he kept on throwing daggers at Andrew who had a smirk on his face.
" I'm full, excuse me!" Josh said leaving the table. Shirley angrily went after him to his room.
" What's the meaning of that, Josh?" Shirley snorted.
Josh just laughed," you want me to stay, at one table with that man?" Josh raised his voice.
" That man is my fiancée why can't he come. You don't have to be rude you know!" Shirley spoke back with a high pitch too.
" That man, cheated on you, he abandoned you, he's just after your money do you understand? Andrew doesn't love you!" Josh shouted, took his back pack and left the house. Shirley stood there letting the words sink in.
" No, Andrew never did that to me. Josh is just jealous or overreacting!" Shirley said to herself. Everyone saw Josh leaving the house and they thought it was best they don't stop him. In the mean time, Damon called Andrew to his office.
" You know you're not welcomed here! Stay away from Shirley." Damon said.
" Shirley is the love of my life, how can I let her go." Andrew said back.
" Everyone knows what you did to that girl. And we won't let you anywhere near her. You're taking advantage of her condition!" Damon said.
" Am I? Shirley loves me, we love each other, it's her to decide not you!" Andrew said.
At the same time, Shirley walked in and heard their conversation. She loved this guy so much but she didn't know why she felt bad when Josh walked out on her.
"Now Mr Rays, would you please talk to your friend. He's overreacting. You heard Andrew, he loves me, I love him too please don't make it hard for us." Shirley said and held Andrew's hand walking out with him.
" You have to go now Andrew, I'll look for you tomorrow and we'd talk about this." Shirley said and Andrew agreed.
" You have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, do cooperate okay?" Andrew said and Shirley nodded.
" How did you know she has an appointment tomorrow?" A deep voice echoed behind them.
" Oh, Mr anger issues is back!" Shirley said in a mocking tone.
" Shirley told me yesterday when we meet that she has doctor's appointment every Wednesday and that is why she invited me over for dinner today." Andrew said and Shirley frowned trying to remember if she said that. Her mind was blank but she just assumed that it's because of her condition.
" Yes, I told him that!" Shirley agreed with Andrew and Andrew smirked at Josh.
" By the way, Mr Manfred, why are you back, I thought I'd have peaceful days at last!" Shirley said rolling her eyes at him.
It's my decision to come and go any time, does it bother you?" Josh said walking past them even before Shirley could reply. Yes, Josh decided to leave but then he thought he should stay and see what Andrew is up to, maybe he could stop him from whatever evil he is plotting.
Shirley just ignored him and went to her room. The next day, Flora went out to the park with the kids. Damon went for business and Josh decided to stay behind waiting for the doctor who was to come and check on Shirley's medical progress.
"Wasn't Mrs Cooper enough you had to stay behind?" Shirley asked Josh as they were having breakfast together.
" Can't I just stay at home in peace? I'm not going anywhere because I have nowhere to go today. Do you have a problem with that, miss Shirley Connor?" Josh asked her.
" Well, as you wish. They continued having breakfast in silence and after they were done, Mrs Cooper informed them that the doctor has arrived.
Josh and Shirley went to the living room to meet with the doctor.
" Good morning Ms Connor and Mr Manfred?" The female doctor greeted.
" Surprised you also know my name!" Josh said scrutinizing the doctor suspiciously.
" Oh, Dr Dave Macon is the one who assigned me to Ms Connor and I have all the details about her and her close associates." The doctor explained confidently.
" See, you're always seeing some imaginary characters in others, no one is bad as you." Shirley said.
" Let's go to my room doctor!" Shirley said gesturing at the female doctor.
" Just call me Janet." The doctor introduced herself.
" Okay Janet, this way!" Shirley led the way to her room with the doctor following her. Josh tried to remember something and watched the two ladies leaving. Mrs cooper went back to her own businesses. Josh went to his room and contacted his friend, Dr Dave Macon.
" Hey, what's up dude? Did the doc show up?" Dr Dave asked.
" Yes, what was the name of the doc you had assigned?" Josh asked.
" Dr Marie Seth." Dr Dave said.
" I knew it! Some doc Janet showed up, can you inquire for me please?" Josh said and disconnected the call heading to Shirley's room. He banged the door open startling the two ladies.
" What the hell 8s wrong with you Josh Manfred!' Shirley asked in an annoyed tone.
" She's a fake doctor! I had confirmed with Dr Dave. The doc who was supposed to come should have been Dr Marie Seth, who are you!" Josh said standing in between to block Janet's access to Shirley.
" Mr Manfred, kindly let me do my work or I leave. Are you questioning my specialty?" Janet asked with a frustrated look.
" Oh yes, just give me a second, Dr Dave will prove who's right." Josh spoke confidently.
The unknown Dr, Janet, looked a bit pale but she was trying to act as normal as possible. Shirley just laid on her bed and shook her head at the drama going on at the moment. Josh checked Dr Janet with dagger eyes like he was challenging her.' let's see if you can run away from this'.
" Who sent you?" Josh asked again but before Janet could admit, Josh's phone rang, it was Dr Dave so he quickly picked up and kept it at loud speaker.
" What have you found out about this Dr Janet whatever?" Josh asked.
" I called the office, they've just informed me that Dr Marie Seth was transferred to another town yesterday and the had to replace her with Dr Janet Leen. She was transferred there yesterday too." Dr Dave informed.
" Oh, I was just suspicious, thank you Dr Dave." Josh said and disconnected the call. He took one glance at Shirley who was obviously ridiculing his actions and Janet who was now confidently walking past Josh as if she just won a tough battle.
" Now, would you please leave and let me do my work?" Janet said opening her medical briefcase. Josh took a peek into it and took a quick picture unnoticeable before walking out of the room and locking it from outside, incase Dr Janet does something and tries to run away.
Josh went to his room and sent the picture to Dr Dave. After a few minutes Dr Dave replied to him.
" You have to stop her, she's administering the wrong medicine!" Dr Dave said.
" I knew my intuition was right! Andrew must have something to do with this!" Josh said and he sprinted to Shirley's room. Again he banged in interfering them.
" Not again Josh, what do you want this time?" Shirley asked with a bored tone. Josh was already getting into her nerves.
Janet was about to inject Shirley so she stopped and kept the syringe away.
" What is it Mr Manfred. I don't have much time, would you please excuse is now?" Janet spoke with a polite tone but you could tell that she was bored with the sudden interference.
" No, I'd just want to have a short word with you Dr before you continue kindly, just two minutes please?" Josh forced a smile at the end. He didn't want her to suspect anything.
Janet confidently followed Josh out of Shirley's room and Josh closed the door behind them. His expression turned serious and cold as he folded his hand Infront of his chest.
Janet stared at him blankly. She was already having a bad feeling about this.
" What is it Mr Manfred?" She asked with the little confidence she had.
" Who sent you?"
