Rules

There are four main leads in the games, there are other choices as well but to beat the game, those four are the most important ones.

They tie the story together very well and … well, the others are just some kind of side story or mini romance type of thing.

Of the four, there are levels of how difficult each one is at getting their hearts. If Leon is beginner level then Ace is expert. Since he is hardly seen by the player, he is harder to talk to and also gain hearts.

People online have described gaining enough of his heart to get his route like trying to find a needle in a haystack. This was another reason why Ace hated trying to get his route.

But he did get some cheats. Ace would appear here and there in other routes and you can try to accumulate his heart by talking to him about things he likes.

But, many felt that his route was not even worth all that effort in the end, even if it is the 'true' end. Because … it is not happy.

"President," Leon called again as Ace shook his head, trying to pay attention to the person in front of him.

"Yes, vice president?" he asked, trying to regain control over his body once again.

It is hard but he does have a very loose grip on his body and honestly, something is better than nothing right now.

"There a lot of things you need to look over." He said, looking at the tablet looking contraption on his hands.

A holographic looking quill pen appeared in his hands as he continued to write on the tablet.

"What is that?" Ace couldn't contain his curiosity and reached forward, taking the tablet from his hands.

"That is what I used to write all the things we need to get done, among other things." He said, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I know that. But what is this?" he asked, looking it over. "It looks like a tablet."

"I do not know what you are talking about your highness," He said, taking the tablet back. "But I do not have time for any more shenanigans. I do not know how the school sees you as such a model student when you are more like a kid at heart."

"Agreed." He said, nodding his head and reaching his hands to his hair.

"President!" Leon gasped, taking something out of his bag and handing it to him. "Wear these."

They were a pair of gloves.

"Why?" He asked, chuckling.

"Your marking." He whisper yelled at him. "You can't just let be out there on display."

"I can't?" He asked, wearing the gloves as Leon held his bag for him.

Their bags are the standard leather and almost like a shoulder bag without the shoulder straps. They are about the size of a medium-sized briefcase but with more compartments and, again, was polished leather.

"Yes." He rolled his eyes at the boy. "I swear your majesty, you are just getting more and more forgetful as the minutes passed."

"Perhaps." Ace shrugged, smiling like a little boy. "Can you tell me more about this 'holy blessing', Leon?"

"I suggest you read up on the history of it if you wish to know so badly, president," he said, pushing the glasses up his nose bridge and looking at his tablet.

"But to get information from you is going to be vastly different than it is when I get it from the books in the library, Leon." He said, mischievously.

Sighing, Leon said, "You know how to get information out from me don't you, your majesty?"

Ace shrugged, "Are you going to tell me?"

"Fine." He said, putting his hands on his hips. "But I am only going to be telling you this once so you have to listen very, very carefully."

"Yes sir." Ace said gleefully.

The one thing Leon treasures the most in the world is the power knowledge has on the world.

In the game, he became Ace's advisor when they grew up and he helped the kingdom flourish wonderfully. But the game did always end kind of abruptly.

Almost like a 'happily ever after' but it did not feel satisfying.

I guess I can understand why it felt like that now. Ace thought as Leon placed his tablet in front of them and cleared his throat as he began speaking.

The tablet turned into a book that showed the different marks on the page with words that looked like a child scribbled on them.

"The insignia or 'holy blessing' was only given to the people that are blessed by the Higher Beings." He began, tapping the mark with the back of his quilt as it popped up.

"Only some people have it and that includes you, your majesty.

"It is so rare that not even the most legitimate of the royals have the insignia on them." He said, looking at Ace to make sure he was paying attention. "Are you following so far?"

"Of course." Ace said, slightly offended. "Am I a bad student, Leon?"

"You are not, your majesty. But you can be a real pain in the back most of the times. At least you are reliable."

"I will take that as a compliment." Ace chuckled. Inside him is this kind of fondness towards Leon and he could understand why.

Though Leon talked like this, he was loyal to a fault. Countless times, he would risk his life for the prince without a second thought.

He is a good friend.

"Are you listening now, your majesty?" He heard a voice that pulled him out of his thoughts and he couldn't help smile at Leon.

"Sorry."

Sighing, Leon shook his head, "What I was saying is that you are one of a kind. Your insignia appeared when you were twelve, after you killed two hundred and twenty-three of the mirrored ones.

"Even that was a feat. Many people are thinking you could be considered the next king but they are not too sure just yet either."

"I don't care too much about that." Ace scoffed. "I need to know more about this mark. Why don't people seem to be terrified of it and why can't I show it off?"

"That is asking for too much, your majesty." He said, shaking his head. "This is considered a blessing. The only people to have this insignia is you and that prince of the servant girl."

"The fifteenth prince?" Ace asked. "He is just a year older than me, right?"

"He is your brother. Do you not know?" Leon asked, handing him back his bag as the two began to walk.

"The only person I interact with is Ajax." He shrugged. "Well, not like there is someone else I need to interact with."

"Of course. After what happened to your mother, you and prince Ajax have gotten closer, or so I have heard."

"You seem very versed with the life of the royal family, Leon." Ace said, beyond his control as he looked at him from the corner of his eyes.

"It is my job, your majesty," he said, as the tablet in front of them turned back into t tablet and he began looking through the screen. "We have a lot to do today, president."

"I see." He said, "So, back to the insignia. You still haven't told me why people are terrified of it."

Leon stopped walking right under a cherry blossom tree as a soft breeze blew past them.

"It has to do with the holy power of the insignia." He said, looking at him suspiciously. "Do you not know anything about the power of the temple, your majesty?"

Ace observed his expression and then forced a smile on his face, "I was merely testing you, Leon. Why would I know nothing about the power of the Temple?"

He shook his head and turned from him, shrugging, "Must you question all my motives."

"I apologise for doubting you, your majesty," he said, running to catch up with him. "You put on a very convincing act. But ... why would you ask about this?"

"You remember that I had not come yesterday?" Ace said, trying to think up a lie at that exact moment.

"Yes? I thought you had sparred with your brother a little too much and ended up wearing yourself out."

"That is true." He chuckled. "But that is not the part I wanted to talk to you about. As I was resting, a dream came to me."

"Dream, your highness?"

"Yes. Dream." Ace remembered a random trivia he got in the game as he was drawing lots to test his luck with the gacha cards. "It had something to do with the temple."

"No," Leon said, eyes widening. "To have a dream about the Temple."

"I cannot tell you what it is about. But it did disturb me slightly." He said, looking up at the dream dramatically.

"Of course. I can understand why you would be curious about the insignia and Temple." Leon nodded his head earnestly. "I apologise for doubting you. Please ask me anything, if you have any more questions."

"Sure." Ace said, smiling at him brightly. "Shall we get going to class?"

"Yes, president."

Author Note:

*Random Trivia: Dreams are an integral part of the kingdom because it is very rare to have them. Especially if it has something to do with creatures of different origins or the Temple. These dreams cannot be shared with anyone except with the priests of the Temple. But they usually are connected with the gift of prophecy and are taken very seriously*

Kenj: Why the hell did I even get this instead of a card??

Also former Kenj, throwing his phone in annoyance before picking it up again and continuing the game.

Thank you, my awful luck!
