chapter 3: Seriously married?

I watched him as he walked towards his car and signalled the men in the Audi S8 and Immediately they let my dad and my bestie Hads go. He entered his car and they drove off.

Hadassah rushed to me with tears in her eyes.

" Am so sorry Lisa, I was about to pick up your call when a car stopped in front of me with your dad and I was asked to get in. Am so sorry Lisa. What do we do now?" Hads asked still crying.

" It's okay Hads it's not your fault okay? " I assured Hads who would not stop crying. I looked at my dad but he wouldn't look at me, he looked at the ground.

" Dad take a cab and go home, Rebecca may be worried." I used the word may worry cause I've never believed Rebecca loved my dad. To me, she just saw an opportunity and took it and has never given me a reason to think otherwise. He didn't say a word but just turned around and stopped a taxi, as he entered the taxi I saw him wiping away his tears but he still wouldn't look at me. The cab drove him away and Hadassah rushed into my arms still crying.

" Come on Hads, am not even crying. Stop crying please." I pleaded

" I know you're hurting Lis even if you pretend to be okay I know you're not" Hads said looking at me. Hads has always got my back the way I got hers and I knew if she had her way she would do anything to prevent what just happened.

" Am okay, I just got married Hads, not a suicide mission, okay know that I put it that way it sure looks like am about to commit suicide," I said trying to lighten the mood but Hads just cried more instead.

" It's okay Hads, let's go to school Liam must be waiting." I encouraged

" You're thinking about school right not Lisa?" Hads ask with a surprised expression.

" What's done is done Hads, Let's go to school. Since my dream of marrying a man I love is ruined I should achieve my dream of graduating the best and working in The Bliss company" I told her as I gently pushed her forward and called a taxi. We got into the taxi and told him we were headed for the University of San Francisco.

" How do you manage to remain so calm Hads, am freaking out. How are you not freaking out?" Had asked staring at me and I just smiled at her. I was freaking out too I just knew crying right now wouldn't make any difference. We just got to the school when my phone rang.

" Hey, Liam," I answered

" Hey Lis, what happened? why are you not in school? I checked your class but didn't find you or Hads. How is Hads? Is it because of the rumour?" Liam asked

" Calm down Liam, we are in school already. And first of all what rumour are you talking about?" I asked scared everyone might already know I got married.

" Haven't you seen it, It's on your sister's Instagram page, a picture of her and Kendrick kissing. And now everyone is saying you've been dumped for your sister." Liam explained

" Oh that," I said relieved." Yeah, his dating Abigail now." I replied

" What!!! Son of bitch. Am gonna beat the hell out of him" Liam said in anger and I smiled. Liam has always been overprotective of me. In high school,l everyone taught I was dating Liam till I started dating Ken. He was like a brother who always wanted to keep me safe. Liam hated Ken but when I fell in love with him Liam had to accept him for me after a series of complaints and reasons why he's not the best for me. Thinking about it now I think I should have listened to Liam.

" It alright Liam just let it be. Where are you right now?" I asked

" Am at the cafe close to the Cafeteria" Liam replied

" Okay, we are on our way there," I said and he hung up

" What's wrong? " Hads asked

" Abigail posted a picture of her and Ken kissing on Instagram and now there's a rumour in school Ken dumped me for my sis," I explained

" Oh, how I hate that girl," Hads said angrily

" It's of no use hating her okay," I said

We walked for 15 minutes and soon got to the cafe, when we entered, Liam stood up immediately and got us coffee.

When he came back with our coffee, he sat down and told me to explain what happened in detail to him.

" In detail, don't leave anything out. I wanna hear everything" Liam said waiting for me to start talking.

"Well, I went to Kendrick's apartment yesterday and saw him in bad with my sister, when I asked how long it's been happening he said it was over a year" I summarised.

" God I hate those two, I knew he wasn't right for you. I should have broken his bone when he asked you out, you would have hated me but I should have done." Liam said feeling angry " I'm gonna interview the person you'll date next myself " Liam continues still angry.

' I wish that was still possible ' I thought

" She can't even do that anymore," Hads said with her voice breaking

" Why not? why can't she?" Liam asked looking alarmed.

" Nah... it's nothing," I said and signalled Hads not to talk because I didn't want to put Liam in danger. Knowing how Liam was he would go to any length to confront Asher Kelvin.

At the thought of that, my stomach twisted. Am I seriously married?

"Sure you guys are not hiding anything from me? " Liam asked suspiciously

" Come on detective," I said and he gave a little smile. I could see he was still angry.

We stayed in the cafe for another 30 minutes before it was time for the next class. Liam had to leave 10 minutes earlier.

We attended the class, then we had another and soon we were done for the day. Hads and I came out of the class to find Liam waiting.

" Hads did you find my car?" I asked remembering I had abandoned it the previous night.

"Yeah I did, it's parked in my house," Hads replied.

" Thanks Had, why didn't you just drive it," I asked

" Nah people will look at me besides did you forget what happened this morning I didn't need to drive." Hads said pouting which made me laugh. I use a Mercedes Benz SL. Hads thinks using sports cars makes people stare but not me I love cars and I love speed. If I had my way I would buy a Ferrari 296 GTS or a Rolls Royce Boat tail. I don't even mind people staring. At the thought, I smiled slightly.

We walked out of the building together and Liam offered to drop Hads and myself off since I wasn't with my car. Just when we got to the packing lot Ken drove a BMW Z4 roadster and parked in front of us. Abigail and Ken came down and walked to me hand in hand.

I just watched them as they stood in front of me without saying a word.

" Son of a bitch" Liam cursed and was about to throw him a punch but I stopped him. " You don't need to Liam, it's of no use," I said calmly.

" Hey! What's with you, Liam? Don't you dare touch my boyfriend " Abigail shouted

" Boyfriend?" Hads asked making a face which made me and Liam laugh

" Come on Abi let's go, you told me you just wanted to say hi," Kendrick said

" Yeah I wanted to say hi before her bodyguard decided to start a fight" Abigail said giving Liam a dirty look which Liam gave her right back.

" Okay, you've said hi, can we go now?" Ken asked feeling uncomfortable now.

" Yeah let's go" Abigail agreed but not without saying " Kenny's got a new car, Melissa, do you like it? I know you love cars" Ken's father was a director in A and A company so he was financially okay.

" Oh not bad but I still prefer Liam's," I replied Abigail slammed the door and they drove off. Liam was using a Ford Mustang.

Liam drove me to my workplace before driving Hads home. I work I'm a cafe. Well actually I own the coffee shop but only Liam and Hads know about it. I dropped by one day to have a cup of coffee and overheard the Owner saying she wanted to sell the coffee shop since she needed to move to Chicago. I had spent all my allowance and saving to buy and renovate the place. Now it looked like a 5-star cafe and even famous people come to take coffee there.

I worked till it was 8:30 pm and decided to close but as I thought of going home to my new old husband I felt a sort of fear.

The man was a womaniser won't he force himself on if I go home? we are married after all. Should I pretend to be sick?

what do I do? Am I seriously married?

I walked around the shop trying to come up with a plan. Even if it is just for today by tomorrow I'll make another plan.

Finally, I decided to take milk, I was lactose intolerant. I went to the refrigerator and carried some milk. I carried it to drink but I realised if I drank it in the shop I probably won't be able to go home. I took it and put it in my bag deciding I would drink it when I was close to his house. I locked up and was about to call a cab when an Audi S8 was packed in front of me. Immediately I saw the car and a man in black stepped out I knew he sent them cause that was the same car which Hads and my dad were in in the morning.

" Hello ma'am, we came to pick you up." the man said politely

" Okay, but I have to pick up my things at home," I told him

" That alright, we'll go to your house first then" he said holding the door open for me.
