Chapter 49: Hybrid

Two days later, the Sila council was abuzz with shifters and vampires as we all waited patiently for Eshe Elshaba to arrive. The Sila council elder had summoned us both after we explained about the disappearance of the Falcata.

The Sila treaty protected any exiled member of the royal bloodline. Hence this was the only way to get Leonardo to attend the meeting. As long as he entered the Sila fortress no one would attack him, nor could he attack any of us.

Peace. This was the only way. The only way to spend the rest of my life with Lycus. I admit I was being somewhat selfish.

But the worried look that passed between Seth, Tristan, and Lycus made my concerns rattle my brain. The Sila council elder sat at the end of the table, tapping his nails as the vampire and shifter’s worried looks embraced the room. Standing by the windows, I watched Lycus on the opposite side of the room flanked by Seth.
