Tristan POV
“Why hasn’t his highness reported back to me?” I murmured to myself as I paced around the villa checking to see if there was a new report from the border. I had been waiting outside his bedroom but fear pushed me outside his office. My gut feeling told me something must have gone wrong. It was early morning but I knew that his highness would have been back or sent a message if he was to stay over.
This was bad. Unless he had decided to go to the shifter pack again.
I could feel my anxiety growing and my nerves were a wreck. A guard came rushing in and he told me I had an urgent message, and I automatically knew my gut instincts were right. The reports stated that the tunnel at the border had caved in and his highness has been buried in the rubble. The border team was not trying to rescue him. I knew this was just a cover-up to an attack. There was no way the tunnel would have just caved in.
