Secrets

Denice woke up today feeling refreshed and ready to go to school. She was happy for the most part, like how she could see her best friend, see her crush, but then she remembered what happened... The embarrassment, the tears, and more especially the failure. The failure of claiming her love... But! this experience won't keep her down.

Denice remembered that she could tell Julica her secret, so what she did was get her phone out and texted her best friend.

'Hey...' 'Can you come by my house later after school?' 'I need to tell you something Denice texted Julica.

Denice put her phone away to go do her morning routine. After she was done she went downstairs into the kitchen to go eat. When Denice got there her mother was there also getting something to eat. More specifically cereal.

"Hey, Denice, ready for your first day of training?" Denice's mother asked her.

"I guess I'm excited. What am I training though?" Denice asked her mother.

"Your alpha powers, and when we get to the pack you will be going to school there. You will learn about our history, culture, and normal human high school things." Joy said with a small smile.

"And when will I be doing these things?"

"When your father gets home. Which is in thirty-six minutes."

"Alright then, I'll go get ready," Denice said before walking to her room to change.

As Denice was walking upstairs to change she was thinking of all the cool things she would learn for this year.

Maybe I will learn how to make someone fall in love with me. No! That's not possible for a werewolf, but an alpha? No! That's not right! I can't do that to Jacob! Even if I want to I can't... it's not right. Denice thought while changing.

"Denice your father is here! Hurry up changing!" Denice's mother yelled from downstairs.

"Okay coming!" Denice yelled back in response.

Denice fixed up the finishing touches on her outfit. She was wearing a black tank top, black leggings with a silver stripe running down the side of the pant leg, and a red and black sports hoodie. The whole outfit complimented her dark-skinned complexion. Denice already had long hair, so her hair was braided all to one side.

Once Denice was done getting ready she ran down the stairs quickly to get to the car.

"There you are. What took so long?" Chris asked.

"I was getting ready," Denice said in reply.

"Okay then let's get going." Denice's father said before he started to drive.

The ride was kind of long, so Denice fell asleep halfway to their destination, but she slightly woke up when she felt a jerk due to the car stopping.

"Denice wake up." Her father said to her while shaking her.

"We're here," Chris informed her.

When Denice looked out the window she noticed that the car was parked in front of the edge of the woods.

"Why are we in front of the woods?" She asked her father.

"Because that's where our territory is." He answered.

"We have territory?" Denice asks her father.

"Yes, we do," Chris replies.

"Cool." She says amazed.

"Just wait until you see the pack and where we will be staying for the time being." He says starting to walk off.

"Wait we're staying in the woods?" Denice says surprised.

"Well, you are because I still have to work, and it's not necessarily the woods."

"What?! What do you mean I'll be staying here?! What if something happens to me?! I have no friends here! I'll be all alone! Also, what do you mean 'it's not necessarily the woods'?!"

"Dede, you'll be fine. Don't worry about it, and someone you know will help you throughout the way staying here. You'll see how it's not necessarily the woods."

"Who's this person that I'll know?" Denice asks.

"I'm not going to ruin the surprise," Chris says stopping in front of a stone wall.

"I thought we were going to meet the pack? This is a stone wall." Denice says confused.

"It looks like a stone wall to protect the pack. It's actually a portal to get to our city."

"City? Do we have a city?! I thought we would be going to a cave or something like that?!" Denice says both surprised and confused.

"You thought we would still live in caves as our ancestors did? Our technology has advanced faster than humans have. It's quite fascinating actually." Chris says informing Denice about their society.

"Whoa, that's cool. So, how do we get in?"

"Just walk through." He says casually.

"Wa-Walk through?! H-How are we supposed to walk through a stone wall!? It's stone!" Denice says confused and stuttering.

"It's easy if you're a part of our pack then you can walk through." He explains. Then Chris walks through the wall baffling Denice. "See, easy." He says disappearing.

"Dad?! Where did you go?!" Denice says panicking a little bit. "Okay he said if you're a part of the pack you'll be able to walk through, and you are a part of the pack, so in conclusion, you can walk through. You got this.." She says taking in a breath. "Hopefully I don't smash my face into this wall, and it's rigid.." She says scared a little bit.

Finally, Denice starts to walk forward, but she's walking slowly still scared about hurting herself attempting to walk through a stone wall. This whole idea is crazy, walking through a wall that is. How is it even possible? Well, Denice is a werewolf, an alpha at that. So, at this point anything is possible.

Denice finally reaches the wall and puts her hand towards the wall touching it. Her hand goes through and she's fascinated by how this is even possible. I mean she is walking through a wall! Who wouldn't be interested in this technology?

Denice walks through the portal smoothly, with no problems at all as her father said. The experience was peaceful. It was beautiful too. Denice saw the colors blue and white-passing her quickly. The whole thing reminded her of the movie Star Wars when the characters would go into light speed.

Denice was then in a courtyard. I guess this is the waypoint or the portal. She thought. Denice turns around to see a blue portal, and then turns back around and sees her dad.

"Now that you're here we should get going," Chris says starting to walk.

"Where are we going?" Denice asks following her father.

The scenery around them was beautiful. It looked like a regular city you would see, but way cleaner, so since the city is clean it would give a pleasant feel. The people though... It was kind of weird. Everyone would either have wolf ears, tails, both, or even none, but most of them had some type of wolf feature. The people here are wearing normal clothes though. That was really the only normal thing about the people passing on the street.

"We're going to go to the place you're going to be staying at," Chris replies.

"Alright," Denice says still looking around. The next thing she saw was an actual wolf run past, and it startled her. "Ah!" She screams in surprise.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to say there is a lane for people to be in their wolf form and run to their destination. It's quite fun if you try it yourself once, and it's a nice exercise too."

"Maybe I'll try it later on," Denice states.

With nothing else to speak about Denice continues to look around while following her father. Next thing she knew they were in a building, an elegant one at that. It was very modern with black, white, silver, and grey. Where she was right now was very elegant with a chandelier and marble floors.

"Where are we?" Denice asks.

"We're at our house," Chris says casually like this is just a normal house.

I mean this is a whole mansion! The house Denice and her family lived in was a normal-sized house, and obviously, the house they are in right now is way bigger than the house they normally live in. Also, this house is way more elegant than their other house. Like, this house, in general, is better than their other house!

"You're saying this like it's a normal house? This is a whole mansion... How do we even have this house?" Denice asks in confusion.

"We are alpha's so, we are in control of this city, but also responsible for the city and its people." He explains.

"Oh, okay. That's cool. So, who's this person that I know?" Denice asks her father.

"Alexzander can you please bring our guest here?" Chris asks their butler.

"Of course sir. I'll get her quickly," Alexzander says.

A minute later and Alexzander comes back with someone behind him. The person stops once he stops. Then the mysterious person steps to the side showing herself.

"Julica?! You're a werewolf?! Why didn't you tell me!? Oh jeez, I have so many questions..." Denice says amazed.

"Julica can answer your questions while she shows you around, but I have to go," Denice walks up to her father and hugs him.

"Bye dad, love you!" Denice says to her father.

"I love you too Dede!" He says back to his daughter.

After they say their goodbyes Chris walks out the door.

"Now that your dad is gone I'll show you around! Come on Denice!" Julica says while running off deeper into the house.

"Wait for me!" Denice says now sprinting to reach her best friend. Denice ran to reach Julica but was stopped by these big white double doors. Now intrigued she starts to go for the door handle, but Denice was then disappointed when she found out that the doors were locked. She tried a couple more times to open the door but they all failed. Julica then appeared next to Denice also staring at the huge doors.

"Julica?" Denice calls.

"Yes?" Julica answers.

"Do you know what's behind these doors?"

"No. Why ask?" Julica asks in return.

"I don't know. It just feels like there's something in there that I need to know... but it's probably nothing. If you may can you continue showing me around?"

"Sure! Follow me!" Julica says motioning to follow her.

They start to walk now. Julica is saying the names of rooms while they pass the doors, but Denice doesn't listen. All of her focus is now on the mysterious locked room. She feels attracted to it somehow like she's meant to be in there, but the only thing stopping her is that stupid lock. Denice was then snapped back to reality.

"Denice! Denice! Hello?!" Julica says trying to get Denice's attention.

"Yeah sorry. I zoned out."

"Yeah, but anyway we're at your room. My room is to your right." Julica informs me.

"Alright, thanks."

"You're welcome," She says with a smile. "Well it's getting kind of late, so I'm going to go to bed. Goodnight."

"Goodnight," After they said goodnight to each other, they went into their rooms.

Once Denice entered her room and glanced around she was in awe already. Her room was beautiful. It was spacious too, obviously. In the middle of the room was this beautiful bed with white banisters, white drapes tied to the banisters, and a nightstand next to it. To her left were two doors and a grey vanity with a huge mirror standing on it in the middle of the doors. To her right was a big bookcase full of books, a desk with a lamp on it with an office chair, and in the right corner was a black bean bag chair.

Denice walked into the door on the left of the vanity and looked around. The room was a very elegant bathroom. She was standing on a black and white marbled floor. To her right was a huge cabinet with all the essentials, and to her left was a big black and white marbled bathtub with a glass shower next to it. In the middle of the room was an elegant sink with a decent-sized mirror.

Denice walked through the other door after she walked out of the bathroom. The other room was a walk-in closet. The closet was already filled with clothes in her style, shoes too! Denice looked around and found a few accessories like sunglasses, headbands, and hats. She decided to try on different looks with her new wardrobe.

Denice was having fun putting new outfits together but then she noticed the time. In doing so she rushed her night routine and went to bed excited for what'll come tomorrow.
