Luna walked back and forth in front of a multistorey building that looked very majestic in front of her. Well, to be honest, she was not really in front of it because she took some distance to cover up her actions. At least no one in the vicinity noticed that her focus had never left the building from the first time she landed her feet in the area.
She bit her lower lip, looking nervous every time she turned her head to the building. What should she do?
Suddenly there was a loud sigh accompanied by the movement of Rio, who rose from his sitting position on the sidewalk. "I get dizzy watching you pacing," he moaned, sounding as frustrated as his sigh. For over six hours, he accompanied Luna, including waiting for her when she fainted. And for almost two hours, they were in the same place with no apparent activity. So, don't blame him when boredom hits him. He wasn't used to sitting with humans. "You'd better go inside and look for Zach instead of standing here in vain." He gave suggestions as well as protests. The longer they were together, the more he might go crazy.
Hearing that, Luna quickly turned toward Rio and glared at him. "If he asks who I am, what should I answer?" She replied with a question. If he asked her to do that, he should also have helped her make up an excuse. Right?
"Let's just say you're the woman he helped earlier. He couldn't possibly forget your face right away."
"That's even weirder," said Luna stifled. "Don't you find it strange to see the person you've helped and paid for their treatment suddenly come to you?" She asked with a presupposition. It was not weird anymore. She was sure that she would look suspicious, either in the eyes of Zach or anyone else.
Rio scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, you're right." He responded awkwardly.
See?
"Then what's your plan? Remember, you have to kill him." He said again.
This time, it was Luna who let out an annoyed snort. She didn't like being reminded of something she didn't like, even though she had no choice but to do it. "I'm more worried about where I sleep tonight," she grumbled with pursed lips.
One thing was for sure. The murder scene wouldn't happen that night. She needed time to prepare herself for that. After all, she didn't have a fixed plan yet. Should she disguise it as an accident, or should she openly display her killing intent?
The most likely scenario would be to push him into the middle of the road, just like when she suddenly ran to protect the little boy who caused all this trouble. Even then, she had to find a chance to make it happen.
The question was, how did she get that opportunity?
Rio chuckled while putting his hands on his hips. He shook his head, amazed at what had just entered his ears. "I didn't think you would adapt so quickly as a human."
"Stop teasing me," Luna rebuked in a half-whispered voice. At first, she was happy and grateful to him because he wanted to accompany her and help her learn about the shocking situation that had happened to her. But then, it seemed that she needed to rethink those feelings.
Rio put one hand on her shoulder with an expression of strengthening but also pitying her. "You have to be strong enough to hear this. Others will surely do the same."
Luna just stared blankly at the hand wrapped in the long black coat. She then turned her gaze to his face and stopped at something behind him. "Oh!" She almost screamed in surprise.
Rio, confused by the sudden change in her face, immediately turned around, following her brown eyes. She found the person they had been waiting for coming out of the high-rise building to board a black sedan whose door had been opened by a driver.
"Oh!"
"Oh!"
Luna and Rio reacted similarly as the sedan moved away from them. Then, a long sigh was heard from the female grim reaper.
"He left." As if dissatisfied, Rio further clarified that fact. "It's all because you don't even dare to come in." And make it worse with his accusation.
"You said I had to leave my ID card," Luna responded with a crushing sarcasm. Yes, it was Rio himself who said she needed to leave her identity card to enter and meet Zach in person after she sent him to observe the situation. That was also why Luna could only wander around incoherently in front of Zach's office. She didn't have any identity on her.
The atmosphere turned silent.
Ah no. The silence only happened between Luna and Rio, who chose silence with their own thoughts. Their surroundings were still busy with heavy traffic in the late afternoon and evening and human activities during the end of office hours.
Without a word, Luna began to walk down the street in the same direction as Zach's departure. Her steps were weak as if she had lost spirit and energy. Of course. Her body was tired after a long journey to Zach's office, only to end up in vain. Not to mention the hot weather in Jakarta and the departure of Zach, the only person who could possibly help her. It turned out that being a grim reaper was much better than being a human.
"What will you do?" Rio asked after a long silence between them. Since then, he had been silent after realizing how serious the situation was for Luna. Being alone in the human world was not a good idea for her as a human. Also, she didn't have someone she could ask for help. How bad her luck.
A heavy sigh escaped from her lips again. Honestly, she didn't have any plans other than Zach. How ironic.
Suddenly, her legs stopped after a realization entered her mind. Her head turned while her eyes narrowed, gazing at only the figure she could see.
"W-What?" Immediately nervousness hit Rio. Luna looked like a wolf about to pounce on her prey.
"You know what? No one can help me but you." Instead of stating her point directly, Luna chose a detour. Well, a small talk so that her wish had excellent potential to be granted.
The confusion on his face grew, along with the appearance of wrinkles on his forehead. "What?" He asked the same question.
"You can directly teleport to Zach's place, right? Help me find out his home address." And this was the most crucial part. Her wish.
His face softened after knowing her wish. Apparently, it wasn't as bad as he had imagined. But, what bad thing could she do to him?
Then, he raised his right hand and formed an OK symbol using his fingers. "That's a minor problem."
If she could hug him, Luna would have done it already. Unfortunately, their bodies were no longer the same, so she could no longer interact freely with his comrades. That fact caused a little sadness in her heart.
"Thanks, Rio." Even so, she could replace it with words. Still, being able to see and talk to them was a stroke of luck.
"Who were you talking to?"
