« At Riverdale Forest »

Ethan and Jeston finally arrived at Riverdale. They parked their motorcycle just five hundred meters away from the forest. Soon, they cautiously entered the forest.

Ethan was still restless. They didn't see Titania on their way to the forest. He wondered if she already arrived or not. Both Ethan and Jeston had no idea how Titania would go to the forest without a ride.

Of course, Ethan was silently wishing that they arrived earlier than her. He was also hoping that they would be able to see her before anything bad happened to her.

Ethan and Jeston were very careful with their movements. They were on high alert. They didn't know what kind of trap was waiting for them in the middle of the forest.

They were both holding their gun loaded with silver bullets. Aside from a gun, they also brought several hunter's weapons.

Ethan and Jeston were very silent. No one was talking. Both of them were very focused, concentrating on their surroundings. One mistake could cost their lives so they needed to be more extra careful. 

The heavy tension grew by second. They knew that their mission was very dangerous, bringing their lives on the lines just to save one comrade. To look at it from others' perspective, their action was considered suicidal.

Several minutes had passed, they were running deep into the forest, almost reaching its center where Samuel was being held captive while surrounded by twenty werewolves.

They halted on their steps the moment they saw two figures just a few meters away from their current location. Ethan signaled Jeston to wait and observe the situation first.

Both of them took cover in the big trees, concealing their presence as they watched the two figures in front of them.

It seemed that the two figures were also doing the same action of Ethan and Jeston. They were waiting and assessing the situation ahead of them.

After a few seconds of observing the two people, Ethan had noticed something.

"Hey, Jeston. Tell me I am not mistaken. Those two people are wearing hunter's clothes, am I right?" Ethan asked Jeston for his confirmation.

Jeston scratched his face and said,"I am also planning to ask you the same question. You just said it first. I think you are not mistaken. They are both wearing hunter's clothes."

"Whoa, are they the other hunters like us who decided to rescue Samuel behind the Hunter Association's back?" Jeston asked him, feeling enthusiastic at that thought that they were not the only hunters present there tonight.

"Let's make it sure that this is not some kind of werewolf's trap. I'll go over there to check. Cover me." Ethan suggested.

Ethan was about to leave their hiding spot when Jeston suddenly stopped him. "Let me do it. You're the sharpshooter between us. You should stay and protect me from behind."

Ethan didn't object with Jeston's suggestion, so instead of him, it was Jeston who went to approach those two people whom they thought were hunters.

Meanwhile, the two figures were alerted when they heard footsteps coming in from behind. The two of them prepared to launch an attack, setting themselves in a fighting stance.

But the moment they turned their back they saw a man wearing similar clothes as theirs.

'A hunter? A real hunter?' They started to communicate through a mind link.

'Yeah, I think so. I can't sense any wolf inside him.' The other one responded.

These two people were Alexa and Diego who were tasked by Travis to rescue the hunter while they were diverting Dylan's attention.

Jeston was now standing in front of them, wearing a sheepish smile on his face. The moonlight was enough for Jeston to see the surprised expression of the two people in front of him.

"Hey, mate! Fro what team are you?" Jeston asked them politely. 

The tension he felt a while ago suddenly disappeared the moment he saw them up close. The two didn't look like they were about to attack him so Jeston heaved a sigh of relief. 

On the other hand, Alexa felt something inside her when she heard the word 'mate' while looking at Jeston's handsome face.

For an unknown reason, Alexa's wolf started screaming inside her mind repeating the word 'Mate'.

Before she could control herself, Alexa immediately dashed towards Jeston's.direction, closing their gaps in an instant. Diego and Jeston were caught off guard by her sudden action.

Ethan also prepared himself to shoot Alexa as he thought that she was attacking Jeston. But the next thing that happened surprised the three men more.

Jeston was not able to react as he stayed rooted in his spot. Before he knew it, Alexa's hands were holding his neck and the back of his head, tugging his hair while pulling him closer to her.

Alexa's lips were crushing his as if she was holding onto her life. Jeston was taken aback by her aggressiveness. Soon enough, he returned her kiss with the same unquenchable thirst and eagerness.

Both Ethan and Diego were astounded by the scene unfolding before them.

'What the hell is happening here? Jeston knew the girl? Is she his girlfriend?' Ethan pondered to himself.

'D@mn. They couldn't find a proper place and time to do this. Seriously? Kissing passionately here in the middle of our enemy's territory while having this important mission!' Ethan complained inwardly, looking away from the two people who were kissing like there's no tomorrow.

On the other hand, after recovering from the shock, Diego realized what was happening. 

'Wait? Could it be… that hunter is Alexa's mate?' Diego's eyes widened with his mouth gape at that realization.

As far as he knew, Alexa was a very conservative girl. She was also fierce towards men that caused the men to feel reluctant to approach her. She was quite intimidating. She was not clingy nor flirty. 

This was the first time Diego saw her acting like this. Alexa was currently being bold and aggressive to the extent of kissing a stranger. The worst case was this stranger looked like a real hunter.

Diego tried his best to communicate with Alexa through their mind link.

'Alexa! Wake up! For goodness's sake please control yourself in front of your… mate.'

But to his disappointment, Alexa's mind was already occupied by Jeston, her mate. His mere presence was causing her to lose her control.

'F*ck! I must stop her before the members of the Blood Moon Pack will sense us here.' Diego mumbled to himself before grabbing Alexa in his arms, pulling her forcefully away from Jeston.

Jeston groaned inwardly when he felt the absence of Alexa's sweet lips on his. 'D@mn! Who the f*ck interrupted us?!'

Because of Diego's action, Alexa realized what she did. She glanced at Diego apologetically while biting her lower lip. 

'D@mn, I should have controlled myself.' Alexa scolded herself inwardly. 

But she couldn't blame herself. The bond pulling her to her mate a while ago was too strong. All she wanted to do was to mark him right away. This was the first time she encountered this kind of feeling- the need to possess someone so badly. Her wolf was also rejoicing after they finally found their mate.

Meanwhile, after ensuring that the two people did not pose any threat to them, Ethan emerged from his hiding spot, walking towards Jeston. He immediately yanked Jeston's arm and pulled him to have a private talk with him.

"Hey, what is that all about? You knew that girl? Your girlfriend?" Ethan confronted Jeston right away.

Jeston let out a soft chuckle before shaking his head. "Nope. I don't know her." Jeston promptly stated.

Ethan narrowed his eyes on Jeston who was smiling like a fool. "What the…? You don't know her but you kiss her like there's no tomorrow?"

Jeston patted Ethan's shoulder and shamelessly said, "Don't be so worked up. Don't be jealous. You will find your girl soon. Besides, I am just acting as a gentleman here. She kissed me first so as a gentleman, I have the obligation to return her kiss. I don't want to offend a beautiful woman like her."

Ethan shot him a cold stare before knocking his head. "Focus men. Focus! We are in the middle of an important and dangerous mission. This is not the right time to pick up a girl and flirt with her."

"Aye, sir!" Jeston quickly responded.
