I REJECT YOUR PROPOSAL 2

During the hours of the evening since I had nothing to do, I went to seat in the garden to get air. It's always eyes catching when I stare at it from my room but coming here now feels different. It looks more beautiful and refreshing.

While watching the servants work and Agnes keeping me company as always, I saw a black car halt at the entrance of the mansion and my heart skipped at the sight of the car. I knew who it was without anyone telling me.

He stepped out of the car with the little man he had refered to as Berrycloth tailing behind him, holding a black briefcase in his hands. From the way the man carried it, I could tell it was so heavy for him. What a poor soul, even after faithfully serving his master he's still being punished.

I sighed. It was none of my business what he did to his employees. The man has willingly worked for the devil he can carry his cross alone.

After my discovery of who Evren really was, I didn't need anyone to tell me to stay far away from him. He could be using me to get at Dalton. Whatever has happened between us will stay between us but I won't let any other thing happen again. He turned to talk to the small man, face as cold as ice with an outstanding beauty.

Even if I was agitated by Evren I couldn't deny he was a good looking man. The devil really blessed him with a beauty one could only imagine.

Sexy eyes that could charm even a statue, the perfect chin and pointed nose. He looked exhausted as he moved his hands through his black hair scattering the once perfect hair only to look even more breathtaking. I wet my lips.

As if he noticed my stare he raised his head to look at me and my breath caught in my throat. I abruptly stopped breathing and just stared at him with wide eyes as my heart pounded so hard like I've been caught doing something bad.

I shouldn't look at him like this, he's supposed to be dead to me. But those eyes. They bewitched me everytime I stared at him.

He tilted his head to the side with narrowed eyes, a small smile forming on that delicate peach lips. Men don't have peach lips, but this man does and he had kissed me with it. My breath rushed out of me at my thoughts. He turned immediately and stepped into the mansion with the small man tailing behind him.

"He's a bad man Adara." I muttered to myself as I tried to calm my racing heart.

I should get used to seeing him around, if Dalton doesn't leave this mansion I'm afraid I'll be stalked with this man for the rest of my life until he decides to move out which I doubt he would. I don't think I can handle that. I don't think my heart can handle it.

I had refused to meet Evren today for the job he proposed, I only hope I did the right thing. Even if he had never hurt me before, hearing everything he's done and what he's capable of made me want to run and hide from his eyes.

He could be using me as his revenge tool against Dalton who knows? The last thing I wanted was getting caught up in their mess, but here I am.

I waited outside for some time before stepping into the mansion once I was sure Evren was out of sight. I should keep avoiding him for my good. "Adara." I turned to the direction of the voice to see the lady standing with her maid. She had a frown on her face as she sized me with her eyes. If eyes could kill, I'm pretty sure I would be dead now.

"Where are you coming from Adara?" I haven't seen or spoken to her since our last altercation in the dining room and I don't care. Every word I said to her that day I meant it and I would say it a thousand times more if given another chance.

It was heartbreaking to find out she's the one sabotaging me all this while and yet I thought it was my luck. I thought I wasn't lucky enough.

"I don't like being kept waiting." I didn't know whether to respond to the lady's question or not. She has asked her guards to follow me around all day, and is now pretending like she doesn't know.

"The rites have been shifted to a day after tomorrow. I would love it if you prepare ahead and not fumble before everyone." she said when I still said nothing.

"But Dalton is not back."

"The rites will hold whether or not my son is around. Agnes will help you prepare. I heard she's been doing a lovely job for you lately, that is good." I turned to leave.

"Adara." I stopped in my track.

"Your dress for the ritual is ready, come try it out." She walked away.

I didn't see a need to do the ritual without Dalton but I've forgotten so soon it's the lady I was getting married to and not her son. It's not like I can call off the wedding, Evren has stated I will only put my family in danger. But could I trust his words?

After everything I've heard about him I just couldn't trust him.

'It's only a couple of days Adara, a couple of days before Dalton returns and I hope he puts an end to all of these.' I muttered to myself.

When I reached my room I made sure to lock the door to avoid unnecessary visitors. I wouldn't want what happened the last time to repeat itself again. The last thing I wanted was to get caught in a room with that man.

"Welcome back Madam." I flinched to see Agnes smiling at me.

"You scared me." I rubbed my chest.

"I am sorry for that. It's time to try the dresses the lady prepared for you. We need everything in place before the ritual." Agnes smiled and I rolled my eyes.

"I'll do that later, I'm not in the mood to display my body before her and everyone that'll be present in that room."

"You know the lady only has the best wishes for you. Imagine being the next lady of the Bancroft empire? Oh it'll be such an honor." She said.

"I don't care Agnes. I don't even want to be a lady Bancroft. They can find somebody else to fill that position."

I had no idea I would wake up one morning to be married to the richest man in the city whose mother wants to control my life.

"I'm sorry if I have offended you Madam I didn't mean to." Agnes quickly apologized.

"That's okay. When we're in here, can you not talk about the lady and the family?"

"Noted." she pursed her lips and walked over to the table to pick something. "Master Evren sent this earlier for you. He was specific about not opening the package until you get here." She said and I frowned. What in the leave me alone couldn't he understand?

"Where's his room I need to return this myself?"
