CHAPTER 19: Lillian

　　As I wake up in my own bed, a smile spreads across my face and then I turn to Jordan who is still sleeping. Damn, I was hoping to give him a big kiss and then maybe make his day with a morning BJ. But since he isn’t awake yet, I carefully slide my feet to the side of the bed and place them on the floor before getting up and pulling my bathrobe on.

　　“Knock”

　　Hurrying as I go down the stairs, I hear the knock again. This time it is louder and more insistent sounding. When I reach the door and open it, I see a police officer and a detective standing face to face just outside and they are talking quietly. The moment I open the door, they glare at me with frowns on their faces and then the taller one states, “We are here with a search warrant. Last night your ex-husband was shot right out front of Jordan’s business. It looked like a robbery, but then we noticed that he had a gun too, so we are checking out all the sides of this first.”
