Chapter 44: Justice, Jealousy, and Premonitions
The silt in the ocean surrounded her so thickly she couldn’t see how much air she had left in her tank. How deep was she? How long had she been under?
She fumbled for her underwater flashlight, finally finding it and turning it on.
Twenty bar. She was almost out of air.
If she was almost out…Asher and the others would surely be….
Then the water changed colors—it wasn’t just brown anymore.
Red.
Swirling around, she saw two male divers fighting with a dive knife. One had long dark brown hair, and the other man had blond.
Asher!
She kicked and swam towards him but wasn’t fast enough.
The blond-haired diver plunged the sharp dive knife into the chest of the brunette, right where his tattoo would be.

Seeley jerked awake in the darkness of the Spindrift master bedroom. The only thing that kept her from sitting upright was a heavy, muscular arm perfectly fitted around her.
