Chapter 23: Stone Walls
Despite the undercurrent of gloom that coursed through the caramel-eyed woman’s gut about Asher and Eva’s mysterious conversation, she ended up having a lot of fun beating both the guys at billiards with Yas as a partner.
It was a close game, which ended with both teams trying for the eight ball. It ended with Orlando scratching and losing the game. Seeley was quietly impressed that Asher had listened to her first lesson because he didn’t scratch once when shooting.
However, he didn’t seem to be that connected with the game either; his mind seemed to be on someone else who never did end up returning to the bar.
When Barlow came over to hang out with them for their last round and bring them Yas’ amazing friend banana dessert, the copper-haired woman decided that she was going to stay in her hotel room tonight.
She needed some space to think, and she had to get up early to plan her dive with the Crenshaws so she could get some secret footage to sink their operations for good.
