Chapter 13

"So how was the interview?" Jennifer asked me when we met up for dinner.

"It was alright. Ed will call me tonight to inform me of the result," I answered her.

"What did you guys do today?" I asked.

"I took the tram up the Peak today. You can see the whole Hong Kong from there. The view was spectacular," I continued before Jeff could answered me.

"We went to do some shopping nearby for souvenirs. We also ate some local dishes. I love the polo bun and the dried dumpling noodle," Jeff answered.

"We plan to head out to the bars again later. Do you want to join us?" Jennifer asked.

"No, thanks. You know that I do not drink much," I answered Jennifer.

"I think I will go to have some sweet dessert at the stall nearby. Then I will go to the night market for a walk. Why not we go together before you guys head for the bars?" I said.

"That's a good idea. Let's go then," answered Jeff.

The dessert stall is just around the corner. I introduced some dessert for them to try and then we head on to the nearby market.

On the way to the night market my phone starts ringing. It's Ed.

"Hello," I answered.

"Hello, Tiffany. This is Ed,"

"Hi Ed," I reply.

"After discussing with my boss, he decided to hire you. Could you start tomorrow? There's some emergency and the current nanny need to leave as soon as possible," Ed informed.

"I think it should be ok. I have to make a few arrangements first though," I answered.

"That's great. Let me know when you are ready. I will come and fetch you from your hotel. I see you tomorrow then," said Ed.

"Alright," I answered.

"Goodbye and good night," Ed said.

"Goodbye," I replied before Ed hang up.

"Did you get the job?" Jennifer asked excitedly.

"Yes, I did and they want me to start tomorrow," I told Jennifer and Jeff.

"Congratulations Tiff! You found a job," squealed Jennifer excitedly.

"It seems you won't be coming home with us," Jeff added.

"It's just a temporary job. I will resign once they find a permanent nanny," I said.

"I have to call the airline company in the morning to postponed the date of my flight ticket and I need to inform my parents as well," I continued on.

"Then tonight you really have to follow us to the bar for a celebratory drink!" squeal Jennifer again.

I rolled my eyes and said," I have to start work tomorrow remember. I can't go to the bar. Let's go for some bubble tea at the night market as our celebratory drink instead."

"Bumper, I was hopping to party with you all night," said Jennifer with a sad face.

"I will party with you guys when I get my first job in a law firm, ok?" I said.

"Alright, you better do," answered Jennifer with a small smile across her face.
