That night, the dinner between the two families went well.
Mrs. Chisaka had more fun talking to Mrs. Saeki while Mr. Chisaka only occasionally chimed in. The three youngsters mostly only listened to the elders' conversation while they enjoyed the food.
At half-past seven, Hisaki and Heisuke bid farewell as they started heading to the night class.
"Mom, you'd really go home with Mrs. Nomura?" asked Heisuke for confirmation.
Mrs. Nomura was one of the employees at Kubota Inn. Her house was nearby the apartment building. Mrs. Saeki often went home with the middle-aged lady if their working schedules were the same.
Mrs. Saeki waved her hand, shooing him to immediately leave for class, "Yes, like usual. She'd clock out soon. Hurry up and go."
Hisaki bowed at her parents and Mrs. Saeki, "Then, we'll go first."
"Mom, see you at home."
