For Novel Authors: A simple 101

You have a creative itch, but after scratching it, noone wants to read your brainchild? You have an awesome idea and people would love it, except they "forget" to read it? Look no further, for I will now compose a simple list of advices I have for you as a reader and as a writer. In this booklet here, I will try to build for you quick and conscious points. Word count? Never heard of it. There will be increased passion on points I find extremely important. Do realize: I may try, but writing this kind of thing will need my personal thoughts. I will try mentioning it before I start monologuing. The advices will include examples a few times. Your novel is in "Rule X: How to not be a b!tch"? Honestly, too bad. You made a mistake, I will tell the world I found it and how to avoid making that mistake in my oppinion. To preemptively answer some questions: Q: "Yo, 11. You got no novels, b!chboy!?" A: "You are right, I currently only have an old draft of a novel replaced with blank spaces. Thanks for pointing it out!" Q: "Eleven, I thought you said that this will be useful..?" A: "Yes, and it will be. I'm not planning on a 1000 chapter tutorial on how to form coherent sentences, I want people to realize that I can't read thoughts through a screen on the other side of the globe, no matter how many times they try." Q (unlikely): "I like your work and want to contribute my own thoughts as a reader or writer. How do dis?" A: "My gods.. Quick, capture it! It's a rare intelligent specimen. I. Must. Record. (Read: Comment. As I previously mentioned, I'm no Omega level psychic.)" If you still feel adventurous, go ahead. I'll post a Rule every once in a while. May we meet again, Eleven

Rule 1 - The Beginning

We all know how extremely important a base is. Chinese authors made sure that we will remember well...

So how does one start a Novel?

Easy. By being precise and using your mind.

If you post a Novel, people will look at 3 things:

1.: Cover - An important aspect of any sale is the cute girl or handsome man standing beside the product.

Since you all, my beautiful Authors, can not be here with me in my room, under my blankets, reading with me your creations, I have to accept looking at your names and the cover pictures with starry eyes.

This means, if you find a good cover, you are almost set already... Almost.

2.: Title - A name makes a person.

You ever met a handsome man, all tall, blond and sparkling under the sunlight... and has the name V@gina, because his mom has tits for brains? Yeah, that is a gigantic turnoff. Get a good title, everyone. I sure went with practical, you should too. If it's about Rome, put the Rome in there. If it's about Gods, find it in you to at least make me think of them and not put "Weedwhacker" in the title. (If any of you do, comment.)

3.: Synopsis - A way to duck up all our previous sacrifices.

To put this simply, now that you have the face, the name and the outline, all you need is a suitable personality. You won't go out with a girl who steals the 20 you put as a tip and then asks you loudly for weed on the way out.

[Yeah N, if you are reading this, honestly go and think about yourself for a while.]

Now, you might be asking: How and what? Simple: You put everything you have into it. Grammar has to be perfect, spacing stylish and smile ready. None's gonna read a novel that has a subpar intro.

If you followed these simple points, congratulation: You made a honeytrap! ...Damn, I regret so much...
