Chavu woke in the pool he had spent most of yesterday making. Marcellus was nowhere to be found, and the gnomes and goblins were not in their pools.
Chavu slithered out of the pool and found a table ladened with all kinds of breakfast foods already set and waiting. Marcellus was at the head of it, with the most wonderful flower necklace that Chavu had ever seen.
"You have been busy," Chavu spoke. Marcellus nodded to the spot next to him.
"Yes, well, vampires can't sleep. Anyway, this is for you. May I place it on you?" Marcellus lifted the necklace in the air.
Chavu bit his lower lip.
"You wait here," Chavu said, and he slithered out of the clearing. He made it to the river and began to pick colorful pebbles from the riverbed.
He was not any good with runes. So, there was no trying to make something so steeped in mana as the necklace that Marcellus had made for him. Yet, he could easily get him some colorful stones.
