Little did I know that 10 year ago I would have met the person that has brought me the most loving yet painful experience of my life.
"I'm finally back. Finally home. I can't remember the last time I've been been here. Maybe 2 years ago. Well that doesn't matter now. I can finally live my dream." I write in my bright brown leather journal as I walk the steps to my Old home. As soon as I open the door, I'm greeted with a familiar scent of baked good and lavender. Oh the warm smell of home. It greets me like a warm hug that I've longed to hold.
"Mom, Dad, I'm finally home!" I say eagerly waiting for their response. "Oh honey we are in the library." The small cozy library in our house is where I spent lost of my childhood. I use to love to read, but now that I'm done with college maybe I'll pick it up again.
I slowly wall through the white painted doorway and see my two loving parents.
"How didn't I guess that you would be in here?"
"Maybe because you haven't been home in over two years!" My father says playfully knowing that I needed to study. "How has our beautiful daughter been while studying in America?"
I look with eager eyes as I explain my whole experience studying abroad. "I hope to find a job here soon at a law firm." I hesitantly say.
When I left, I left to become a dancer. My parents have always been supportive, yet that is the one job my father is totally against. " YOU DID WHAT!!" he yells as he stand. " Father, I studied law, to help you and Mom with our debt. I also knew I wanted to do this."
He sighs letting me know that he hates my decision but knows I just want whats best for them. "Just don't get yourself mixed up with those sharks, NeNa."
"I promise I won't" I say. "I'm not planing on signing with a law firm anyways. I'm planing in joining a company's legal team as an adviser for right now. I promise nothing will happen, and even so I can always fall back on my second degree in acting."
"Well its good to have you back dear." my mother says as she raises her head from an old story book she use to read when I was little. "I've missed you to mom."
"So Min Jin when are you going to see Jin Soo? You know he has been asking about you since you left? Why would you leave such a boy?"
"Mom, I didn't comeback for him. I came back because my lovely parents health. Plus you know why I left. I wasn't going to be just some house wife. I needed more."
"NeNa," father interrupts, "At least go see him and Yu Na, they both have been very worried. Will you please promise us that"
"Of course, I might have left, but that doesn't mean we are not still friends. I promise to the both of you, but remember why I'm here."
