Unlike most heroes in tales, Foolan has never been chosen by the heavens. Instead, he is a nomad, with a blue eye, a green eye, and a second laugh that echoes in his mind. In a society where martial arts are created through enlightenment, ancient ruins lie under common towns, and unknown histories are sold by elite factions, Foolan manages to stay alive because of the questions he asks. He laughs at nobles, defends commoners, and refuses luxuries, regarding luxury as an imprisonment for him. However, after a black stone box reveals a mysterious symbol of ancient power, the root which should have stayed hidden and the forgotten name that knows him, Foolan learns that the world has taken something out of history.
