Qiao Meng

Meng Hao was waiting at the VIP room of the Lance cafe. He came early for the meeting since he couldn't sleep because of all the excitement. Meng Hao had been waiting for over an hour already, but still felt energetic. He had already planned the date out. He would start the day by taking a coffee with Wang Ming.

Then they would go bowling and then to a park. Last, to a bar and when they're at the bar, he would try to make Wang Ming drunk, then let it play out. Of course, they would only sign the contract at the bar, since if they signed it any earlier, Wang Ming wouldn't have any reason to stay.

Meng Hao didn't want Wang Ming to think that it was a date, since he didn't know how Wang Ming would react to it. He also wanted to find out more about Wang Ming. He couldn't date a person he knew nothing about, this was a perfect opportunity to get to know Wang Ming.

Meng Hao knew his body was huge and muscular. Coupled with his face looking intimidating, so no one thought he was gay. He has tried to confess his love to some of his crushes before but it has never went well, they would all run away. Luckily, since his family has a big reach, no one has ever leaked this information. Who would dare to offend his family?

He hoped that Wang Ming was a good person, and even though if Wang Ming didn't accept him, they could at least be friends. Meng Hao hated to feel like this, feeling insecure, but he wanted to fight for his happiness now. He felt like he had put his own happiness on the shelf for too long.

Wang Ming had been sitting in the taxi right beside Louzheng for 20 minutes now. There were only 5 minutes left until the appointment, but they were still at least 10 minutes away. He couldn't help but urge Louzheng to drive faster, even over the speed limit. Wang Ming didn't want to give Meng Hao a poor impression by coming late to their appointment.

"Louzheng, I know it's not right, but please step on the gas. This appointment is important to me, it's a do or die situation for me."

Louzheng then nodded at Wang Ming and stepped on the gas. He wouldn't usually do this, but he felt that Wang Ming is a good person, and this appointment should be crucial for him.

Seeing that Wang Ming looked stressed, Louzheng sped up. Wang Ming even promised him that if he made enough money from the restaurant, then he would take care of Louzheng by providing a job for him for the rest of his life. They both prayed that no police would stop them, else they would be later than just 5 minutes.

But it was like a higher being had heard their prayers and wanted to toy with them. Just as they crossed an intersection, Wang Ming and Louzheng heard sounds of a siren and blue and red lights flashing behind them. Looking back, they saw a police car was tailing their back.

Louzheng thought about speeding up so that Wang Ming could reach the cafe, but if he did, then he might lose his license. So instead he slowed down the vehicle until a stop. There was no way Wang Ming was going to arrive at the appointment before 10. But after their car stopped, the police drove past them instead of stopping.

"What the…"

Both Wang Ming and Louzheng felt confused and irritated at how the police car behaved, tailing them, then drive past them when they stopped. But the stop only took a minute. The cafe was close now so he could still make it, so he told Louzheng once again to drive as fast as he could. Wang Ming knew it was irresponsible to do it, but this was important for him.

Sadly, only a couple of hundred meters away from the cafe, the same police car stopped them again. Wang Ming wanted to explode. He could see Lance Cafe just up ahead, he was so close. It was 9.59 AM one minute before the appointment. But since the police had stopped them, he could only hope that they would let them go faster.

Qiao Meng had just graduated from the police school, and today was the first day at work for her. Her dream since little is to catch all bad guys in China, and by so, make China a crime-free country. After police school, she thought she would work in Criminal Investigation, but she had to work in Traffic Control instead. But even which department she was in, Qiao Meng still wanted to catch as many bad guys as she could.

When she was driving on the road patrolling around with her senior officer Luo Ruiqing, which was famous in the police force, he was once a rising star in the police force. But, after offending the son of the Deputy police commissioner Rank, he had been working in the traffic control department ever since. He also has never gotten a promotion and has been a Sergeant 2nd class for over 20 years. After that, he wanted to remedy the situation by apologizing, but it was too late.

Since then, he has always put his head down and done his work. Afraid of offending someone else and lose his job. He turned from an upright police officer that would do anything for justice to a cowardly old man. He understood that you have to swallow your pride to live. Now he only wanted to retire and get his police pension, which would let him open a little restaurant, enough for him and his family to live well for the rest of his life.

On their morning ride they saw a taxi speeding 20 km over the speed limit, Qiao Meng was excited to catch her first bad guy already. She turned on her sirens and was ready to intercept the taxi, but it disappointed her when they got an urgent call, that they had to help at a crash scene which they found out was a hoax.

Feeling enraged after driving out to the place for nothing, she drove as fast as she could back to the place where the taxi had stopped but found that they had driven away already.

But she didn't give up. She drove further, trying to find the taxi. Finally, she found the taxi again. It was close to one of her favorite cafe's Lance cafe. Laughing out loud, she said to herself, "I got you now!"
