Coming over

I stare at my phone in disbelief. They were all probably worried I was going to be bringing home a boy again. The partnered hotels would have eyes and ears all around to be sure I wasn't with anyone. I sigh and shut my phone off, I hated it here.

"What's the matter?" Mateo asks, concerned.

"My dad wants me to stay at a hotel for tonight. It's so frustrating!"

"Well, you can always come over to my place." He says as he leans over towards me. He reaches over across from me to fasten my seatbelt. I look at him, my cheeks burning at how upfront he was in asking that.

"I- UH" I stammer as I fumble for words. I was clearly taken aback and it looked like I hadn't registered in Mateo's mind at what he was insinuating. His eyes widen as it suddenly clicks at what he was saying and his cheeks suddenly go red as he clears his throat awkwardly.
