“Mia, this is your first time visiting the palace, stay close to me and don’t go wandering off by yourself young lady.”

“Yes mother, I remember. You told me a thousand times already.”

I’m pretty sure that mother knew better but for propriety’s sake we both pretended that I was actually going to listen this time.

It’s not that I’m a disrespectful or disobedient child, I just have a bit of wanderlust. I’ve long wanted to see the palace in all its splendor and now was my chance. We both knew that there was no way I could sit still for some boring dinner.
