Chapter 1Magic Mutations

A spell formed in front of one of the teachers in training that Damia Solven was teaching and resolved but to a very unusual result. Uri watched on as the fire elemental that had been summoned was not only a fire elemental. Magma formed a large beast that looked like it could've been summoned by a fire mage or a nature earth mage, "What is that?" The fire mage looked at his wand then back at the elemental. The small group looked up at the elemental as it awaited its creator's orders, "This isn't normal," Damia commented as she looked up at the creature, "Has this happened to you before, Steven?" The younger mage shook his head, "Please unsummon this creature and try another spell."

After several attempts and several bizarre spells, Damia called off her lesson, "What is going on, Mrs. Solven?" She shrugged, "Has this happened before?"

"Never, Georgia," The group headed away from the training grounds, "I will need to talk to the headmaster about this," Uri looked at the training area they were using and, with aid from his cane, walked down to the sandy circle that was used to practice magic. The sand was scorched and a pair of automatons had begun to clean up behind the training teachers, one of them noticed Uri and greeted him.

"Hello Uri," The automaton said, "Do you need anything?"

"I would like to observe the residues of the elemental if that doesn't bother you two," The two automatons backed up and allowed the soon to be third year mage to approach the sand. He crouched and touched the burnt sand and recalled the physical appearance of the molten rock elemental. He knew the look of fire elementals and earth elementals, but this one was nothing but a combination of the two, not powerful flames or solid stone but magma. Uri looked around and then stood up, "Thank you," He began walking towards the exit of the training center, his mind trying to find what could be causing the magical mutations. Surely he would be outpaced by the headmaster and the head of each school and their research but the young mage couldn't help but want to find out for himself what was going on.

The heads of the schools gathered in the headmaster's office. It was only a couple of weeks before the beginning of the school year and the sudden surge of manipulated and mutated magic had began to alarm them of what would happen during their school's classes and how it would affect the students, "We have to understand what is happening, Headmaster Solven," Roger Helter, the head of the nature school began the conversation, "I can't have my teachers being caught off guard by these mutations, equally so for my students."

"I have to agree with Roger," Helden Ervel, the head of the ice school, added, "Do we even have somewhere to start?"

"I am afraid we do not," Benjamin replied as he looked at the report that Damia had written about the incident that had occurred earlier that day, "Have you noticed such changes to your own magic?" The 5 teachers didn't seem to have a response to his question, "I expect tomorrow that I will have answers to such questions then?" The five nodded, "Has there been any harmful or dangerous situations that have arisen from such alterations?"

"Not that I have seen, no," Julia Spartzic, the head of the storm school, replied, "Yet I have not noticed any real alterations to my students' magic."

"I would have to agree, aside from Uri's magic, no life students are showing any signs of magic manipulation or mutation," Helena Rosewood commented, "But I am certain that such changes in magical structure of spells can't be very good if left unchecked."

"I will check in on the situation with you 5 once more tomorrow night, for now, let us simply stay vigilant," Benjamin said as he stood up, "Someone should check in with Uri, maybe he has felt something in the magic around our school."

"I am not aware of Uri's importance, Headmaster Solven," Julia replied, "As I do not interact with him very much."

"He has been blessed or cursed with a very advanced connection to magic, he can detect magic with no spells and he possesses magic that we can't completely comprehend," The headmaster explained, "If there has been a surge of magic, like when we had that magical experiment last year, Uri will know that something happened."

"Alright," Roger said as he stood up, "Who is going to volunteer to check in with him?"

"I will do so," Helena volunteered, "He is one of my students after all."

"Very well, I believe that is all that needs to be discussed for tonight," The headmaster and the other teachers left his office and headed back to their living quarters as the moon was high in the sky.

The moon light softly lit the path in front of the young mage as he walked through the forest, something was calling him. The silence of the forest was only broken by the soft rustle of the leaves in the gentle summer breeze, "What am I even looking for?" Uri muttered to himself as he walked. He hadn't taken the path he was on before as it led him deeper and deeper into the woods. A faint light, different to that of the moon's light caught his attention, drawing him in further.

As he entered a clearing he couldn't believe his eyes. Almost as if it had fallen from the sky or had grown suddenly out of the ground, a large crystal form sat in the middle of the clearing. He could feel an extremely powerful pull of magic towards it, "What is this?" He slowly approached it and put his hand out, hesitating to even reach out and touch it. Slowly, Uri's hand pressed against the crystals that pulsed with magic and dimly glowed. They were smooth and cold, "Is this a magic spike?" Uri thought out loud as he withdrew his hand from the crystal. The young mage's mind attempted to connect what he saw with any knowledge he had, either from the forbidden texts or from the classes he had done in his first 2 years. His search was coming up with only what he had thought when initially seeing the crystal formation, it was a magic spike. The moon was already beginning its descent towards daybreak, it was time for him to head back to his room. Uri also knew that if he could get his hands on the book of magical nature, he would have the answers he was looking for.

I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Across the vast convolution of worlds, divine beings rule as absolute sovereigns—each god assigned dominion over a singular realm. Skirmishes are inevitable, whether for power, amusement, or sheer pettiness. One such battle, between Nexus, the God of Trickery, and an aging, senile deity, resulted in an anomaly… A soul misplaced. Elliot, an ordinary man, was never meant for Ul’Tra-el. But fate, or perhaps a cosmic prank, had other plans. Unlike other worlds, Ul’Tra-el is an aberration—one that developed a voice. A voice that diverged from the natural order. A voice that changed everything. Its foundation cracked, leaking dimensions into one another. Rifts tore open like festering wounds, vomiting forth unspeakable horrors—monsters not meant to exist. But the world did not sit idly by. In response—perhaps an act of self-preservation—the world gifted its inhabitants power. Talents awakened, granting people extraordinary abilities. And for every rift sealed, the Voice of Ul rewarded them generously. Survival was simple: fight, grow stronger, and close the rifts… or die trying. In this ruthless, blood-soaked reality, Northern—a white-haired boy burdened by his past life—was reincarnated. But unlike the chosen heroes, he awakened as a talentless nobody. No power. No strength. No future. And when death loomed over him—when despair clawed at his soul and the cold grip of the failure threatened to take him— A Voice responded: [System Notice] [Your Soul cannot take a form.] [Searching for a Unique Pattern Ability…] [Searching…] [Search Found.] [A Unique System Ability has been detected.] [You Can Copy And Evolve Talents] ... Follow Northern through his journey as he becomes the pinnacle of this world. This a story about a white-haired boy’s rise from rubbles!! Note: This is an overpower genre but MC does not just start off like that. Even though MC can copy talents he doesn't just jump around copying talents because there's a limitation. However, his rise to strength is depicted and is an experience to enjoy. The first few hundreds would be frustrating to follow because MC is weak but that makes the experience all the more interesting when MC finally gets freaking strong and starts wiping the floor with everyones asses.
