Chapter:eight: aftermath

"So that fool of an older brother killed father and mother along with marquis Rolando even so it's a taboo to execute royalty I will have to appease the marquis family now."

Currently sitting inside a room filled with documents is formerly prince Alexander now King Alexander Julius IV, Princess Laura, Count Jacob, city guard commander along with everyone else who was on the side of the current king during the battle a week ago theirs one more person, a very special person. Duke Henry Flamburge.

" The second prince should be confined for life and all his assets be seized." The city guard commander says he seems to be wearing significantly more jewellery than when we first met.

" In due time we are currently working on taking over his assets as for his imprisonment I've already put him in the royal prison I swear he will rot in there." King Alexander says to everyone who all applauds everyone except myself and Duke Henry.

"Next I will hand out rewards starting with City guard commander I king Alexander Julius IV officially grant you the title of Count along with this you will be granted the territory that belongs to the now-deceased Count Ashwell.

The city guard commander rises then bow and sit back down, this will be a long ceremony, won't it.

"Finally for being the decisive blow to end my evil brother failed rebellion and for being the deciding factor in numerous cases throughout the battle I king Alexander Julius IV grant you the title of Marquis along with lands that belong to my now deceased eldest brother prince Edward Julius along with the honorary title of Sword of the moon."

The king says the room get eerily quiet I wonder if it's the land that I received or is it the title that pisses them off more.

Personally, although the reward Is very enticing as I am right now it's of no use to me but unlike before this is a royal decree so it can't be changed I'm betting that the evil imp is smiling behind that calm face.

"Your majesty although I won't deny lord Hades contribution in the battle against your older brothers but to hand him such a heavy title an outsider I'm sure it will cause unrest among those of nobility." So he's not against me having a title he's angry at me having a higher rank title than your pretty sneaky city guard commander or should I say, Count Ashwell.

"I agree as well plus the land he's receiving belongs to royalty and has such can only be given to royalty." Count Jacob says while staring at me intently, he as received land twice the size I'm receiving that only someone of higher rank should have, that's noble hypocrisy for you.

"Count Ashwell and Count Jacob are you questioning royalty much less your new king." Oh, so he's finally speaking after all this time.

"No Duke Henry you most of all must understand their's precedence that must be followed." Count Ashwell tries to say while flustered but Duke Henry ignore him and say to the king directly.

"As the king, your authority is unquestionably especially for those of lower rank never have your authority questioned." The Duke says then sip his tea and like that the award ceremony ends.

"Haha what bullshit is this, you a noble the world is turning upside down. " Hammerhand says while drinking way too much liquor yep it's true I'm noble and for that reason, every woman in this club is staring at me with greed in their eyes.

"Well as your lawful wife by laws of this country doesn't that make me a noble too." Princess says while allowing her bloodlust to reach the other women in the pub.

"That's true lady Styx." I say to her and she puts on a beaming smile finally all the women turn their eyes away.

"Knowing you isn't that noble title be going to waste."An old but new face says he's Isaiah Cromwell a gold rank adventurer a contractor type I sent him earlier to assist la puppeteer earlier today.

"Yeah, that's true since I'm going to the Futam Empire soon." I respond to Isaiah who smiles knowingly.

"Here these documents appoint you as ruler in my stead your words are my words." I say handing over a file jacket and a badge to him.

"Yeah, I'm a noble now bitch." He says screaming out to everyone in the bar causing Princess to facepalm.

"Hey, mister noble I want a beer no screw that two beers." Don says to Isaiah as both of them go of somewhere to get drunk Hopefully he doesn't lose those papers.

"Oh that remains the next two weeks will be free time so do what you want during that time, after which were are going treasure hunting." 

I then take out plastic cards with gold all over it and with serial numbers marked on the back. 

"These are your adventurer cards they have all your payments on them, so don't lose them." I say to la puppeteer while handing the cards out to everyone.

" Now it's time for rewards Don 5 million dollars, Hammerhand 2.5 million dollars, Princess 2 million dollars, Warmonger 5 million dollars, Isaiah will be rewarded with temporary ownership of my lands and temporary nobility and finally La puppeteer 10 million dollars." Hearing what I've said everyone begin to cheer for la puppeteer who looks on surprised.

"Part of it is a gift from his royal highness for healing his precious sister the other part is your pay." For a normal person earning this much in a short while would a long fantasy but for adventurers of our level, this is just a drop in the bucket.
