Chapter 6

Nik's Pov

'Babe, can I sleep here again?' I asked babe while we were eating. We just got back from the hospital. We went first because they need to stay in our hospital for a couple of days more. By the way, I talked to the staff and doctor's earlier that the rest of Liam's chemotherapy is free, as well as the medicine, and I moved the boy to a private room to make him more comfortable. Babe is especially happy for what I did.

'Wait babe, where is the boy's father? Isn't Aaliyah too young?' I thought of asking, because I was embarrassed earlier because Aaliyah and the child were still with us.' ' I said to her.

'Babe, don't be noisy. Liam's father, maybe you know him because I know you and vince are friends. And Vince is the COO of that company. He knows that asshole. He is the CEO of Sy Company.' Babe said causing me to suddenly choke.

'Babe, are you okay?!' she asked me worriedly but my brain can't absorb it,

That night we had a drink. He mentioned that that girl works at Sy Company.

Then Aaliyah works at Sy Company now.

'Is it true babe?' I couldn't believe it, I asked after she finished her food.

Daniel entered the company early today and immediately ordered his secretary to call one of his employees who is in the administrative office.

He was drinking coffee while sitting on the couch when suddenly a soft knock made him stare at the door but it turned out to be his secretary so he was depressed.

'Sir, Ms. Mendoza did not come to work today.' She said.

He's disappointed so he just nodded.

He called the secretary for Aaliyah who is in the administrative department but suddenly Aaliyah did not go to work because she's in the hospital right now.

When she closed the door, she immediately knocked again to announce that he had a visitor.

'Sir? Mr. Dela Cruz, your friend is coming up to the office now' she said again.

'Okay' he just said.

He was surprised that his friend suddenly came with someone.

Lyca's pov

We also thought for two days whether or not babe will tell Daniel, CEO of Sy Company, that my best friend has a seriously ill child.

But my concern for Liam dominated me more. . I love my best friend, and because I love her, I will do this even if it means that I will be the first to talk to Liam's father..

Liam is sick. And not just sick. This is serious. That's why he needs a father now. So is Aaliyah. She can't do it alone. 'Bro, your girlfriend almost four years ago, who works in your company now, she's her best friend' said babe to him causing him to stop drinking coffee.

'So, she's the one that Vince likes? I knows that, bro' he said to babe. I guess he thought that was what we were really going to say.

Daniel adjusted his seat.

'What?' He said in a serious tone.

'She already has a child, bro' babe said with a hanging effect. I'm the one who's nervous.

He didn't answer. He was just looking at babe to make sure that he's not lying.

He laughed.

My heart ached for some unknown reason as I saw him lying there and obviously sick.

'Bro, let's go inside' said Nik. They are behind me.

'Let's go inside' his girlfriend opened the door even though I wasn't ready.

Damn. This is the only time I've ever been so nervous in my whole fucking life.

I just nodded and followed them.

Aaliyah staring at us. She was obviously surprised because I was with them.

'Alii' Nik's girlfriend while placing the food and fruit on the table.

'I'm sorry Bessy. You'll be angry, it's okay as long as what I did was for you and to your son.' Nik's girlfriend said to her.

Aaliyah's Pov

I was really surprised. I thought I was just missing out because now I see the man who is the cause of my suffering today.

'I'm sorry Bessy. You'll be angry, it's okay as long as what I did was for you and to your son.' she's a bit guilty to say it. What does that mean?! They already said to him that he is liam's father?!.

They both left, I feel bad.

I have no reason to deny any more. Since we are at the hospital. He can do the DNA test.

I'm sorry you don't have a helper while the child is sick.' He said. He is very sad. I can see it in his eyes as he looks at liam who is now sleeping peacefully in front of us.

'why didn't you tell me?' He asked.

'His name is liam? When was he sick?' He asked while sitting on the chair next to Liam's bed.

'Four months ago, he was diagnosed with leukemia stage 3 cancer.' I said sadly. He never took his eyes off our son.

He didn't answer.

'He's been sleeping for a while, that's because he was injected 2 days ago. She's too young to feel that much pain' I cried as I said it.

But I stopped. I don't want to be weak in his eyes.

'Why didn't you tell me right away the last time we met? Instead you pushed me away' he asked.

They were laughing together while I was holding my hands on my hot cheeks.
