"Seth Berner..."

Seth opened his eyes.

A bright light pulsated in the darkness. It was speaking to him.

"Seth Berner..."The light grew larger and larger as it spoke. It was coming.

"..." Seth tried to scream, but no sound came out of his mouth. He lay still, in the void.

"Seth Berner..." the light's voice was much clearer now. Seth could tell it was robotic and toneless.

The light flew until it had reached him.

"You basta-" Seth could speak now. He knew this light must know something about why the universe hated him. He might be a servant universe.

"It's time to go back." Seth was interrupted before he could say anything. There was a flash of golden light in the darkness, a light red translucent screen appeared. The screen was adorned with golden dragons and gilded with a border of gold.

"The hell??" Seth yelled in shock, he blinked a few times, and his eyes widened. It was a game screen, like the ones he heard people talking about in novels and manga. Seth was so shocked that he forgot about the ball of light. He thought he was hallucinating.

"I can assure you that the screen you are seeing is real." Seth heard a robotic voice coming from above his head, it was the ball of light.

Seth read through it after confirming it was real.

"What does 'ascended strength soul' mean." Seth looked towards the light.

"It means that you are a reincarnation of an ascended being and although you have lost your qualifications to be ascended, you still have the strength." The ball of light responded quickly. Seth narrowed his eyes.

"I see." He knew that meant something important, one of his past lives were most likely super strong, and he had some of the strength passed on.

He looked at his cursed status. He, who had thought he had found a way to free himself from his fate, had been struck down like he always had.

"Shit!... The shop is locked! You show me a way to escape, and you tell me I can't even use the damn thing!?" Seth yelled. He turned to the ball of light.

"It seems it is not your time yet. I am unable to change the system." the ball said emotionlessly, starting to fly up.

"Wait! You bastard! get down here and let me open the shop! I need to-"

The ball stopped floating up.

"You..."

DING

The ball was interrupted by a loud ding. Seth's vision was obstructed by a pop-up.

Achievements +1 (swore at [High Ascended] being)

Seth was in shock. The ball of light is an ascended being like one of my reincarnations? It's a servant of a god? While he was stunned, the pulsing light disappeared. He was left alone, just like always.

...

"Boss!" The ball of light had appeared in the holy land.

"What is it? is the boy living another useless life now?"

"No, sir!"

"You failed!?"

"Well, sir.."

"What happened? Why has the boy not reincarnated yet!?"

"He swore at me! And he was given points for it!"

"What!? That has never happened before! The system must be trying to usurp us!"

"Yes! He now has enough points to open the shop!"

"What!? He should have less than eight hundred million!"

"I don't know how, but he does!"

"Shit! He cannot be allowed to continue growing. He has hundreds of times the number of points than he did when he almost killed all of us! What will he be able to do to us if he becomes stronger than his past life!? We made a grave mistake when we cursed him with the strongest curse."

"What do you need of me, sir?"

"You have a new mission."

"Your wish is my command."

"You are going to go kill him and his family immediately when he reincarnates."

"Yes, Sir!" The ball of light bounced affirmatively and disappeared once more.

The other angelic beings in the realm looked on in wonder, they had never seen their master like this before.

"Stop looking at me and get the hell back to work!" The god screamed at them in anger.

...

Seth lay stunned for a few minutes before he had fully wrapped his mind around what happened. That ball of light was an ascended being and the servant of a god. But more importantly. He had sworn at it. There is no way that light not mad at him. Although he unlocked the shop, it was at what cost? It was too late to think again. It had already happened. The only things that helped him cope were thoughts of the goods that the shop could get him and the fact that he was also an ascended being at one point. He could always become stronger than his past self! All he could do now though was continue moving forward.

[shop] (UNLOCKED)

---

After waiting around in the darkness for a while, Seth decided. He would go to the shop and completely forget about the ball of light and divinity. It probably wouldn't matter too much. A god shouldn't get angry at a young child for swearing at his servant, no gods would ever stoop so low as to attack him for an insult, right? He also still wanted to see if he could buy any good things from the shop, he might be able to buy some good stuff. Seth gathered his thoughts and resolutely pressed [shop]. The screen glowed brightly for a second. When it dimmed back down to normal, it had changed.

The tabs looked promising. Judging from the [Stats] and [Growth] tabs, he could get much stronger and be able to escape his fate. He might even be able to kill it! Seth looked at the screen in thought. He was elated. Judging by the points he got in his last life, most people would only have a few. At most, they would have a few hundred. But he had one billion to spend, what a cheat. He would probably be able to buy out the entire shop! Seth knew from the ball of light might even be able to ascend or become divinity! Being the big shot he now was, he wanted to give himself some time to rest and slowly think over what he wanted to do first. It would be the first time in his entire life (or death). After a few seconds of thinking, he chose [Stats]. He would see if he could shake off his fate just with stats.

Seth grinned as he maxed out his stats with 400 points. The locked stats bothered him a bit, but he overlooked it as his stats were already looking impressive. Another thing that annoyed him was that he felt like 1000 wasn't strong enough to get rid of fate, there was no way it was that weak. Seeing the note that said 1000 was only the max for the start of the reincarnation gave him hope to get strong enough though. Thinking about how easy his next life is going to be. He thought of how, with the strength he could get from the shop, he could finally have control over his own life. he selected [Growth]. He wanted to see what he could really do and how mighty he could be in his next life.

Seth was a rich man now, he read the exchange rate and used 3000 points. As he was maxing out his growth rate, he saw a new type of growth. Soul Strength, Seth looked at it and spent another 1000 points. It reminded him of his (ascended soul strength), maybe he could reach higher than his past. He had high hopes for his next life, and they were only getting higher. He felt like he would soon become a true monster in every sense of the word. All done maxing out this tab, he clicked [Rebirth]. He had decided to do special last because there probably wasn't anything too good there and he had enough points to buy everything anyway.

When Seth saw the World Strength, he was caught off guard. He didn't think that there would be other worlds that he could be reincarnated to. The World Size came as a surprise to him as well, he didn't see a reason to want a bigger world. He decided to max everything out anyway. He hadn't seen anything bad in the shop, so he thought it probably wouldn't try to scam him. Seth spent another 2100 points to max out everything on this tab as well He still had 999992503 points left, so he wasn't expecting to lose that much on the last tab. He already felt pretty fulfilled from this shopping spree. His next life was going to be a breeze. He selected Special, he looked at the options and realized how wrong he was.

Seth was shocked once more, there were so many locked options, and everything was so expensive. When he saw Memories, he had a thought. If he bought all of his memories, he would have a huge edge over everybody else in his next life. So he did. It cost him a grand total of 50920 points. The Inventory was very appealing to Seth. His last life of homelessness and captivity taught him that the ability to store your things away was very important. He spent 100000 points for 1000 slots, he wanted to buy all that he would ever need.

Seth spent the 1000000 that the System option required and bought ten years' worth of protection for 36500. He assumed that although he had sworn at the light, it wouldn't hold too much of a grudge.

Having bought all he could buy, Seth decided to save his points instead of spending it all on Protection Packages. He looked around, noticing that the light was nowhere to be found, he realized that it had left. It must have gone when he was engrossed in shopping. Thinking about it, it was obvious that it would have gone because it wouldn't have just waited for him to finish looking through the shop. Seth concluded that it probably had to meet with other dead souls.

Seth looked back at his balance. It was 998805083, he still had almost all of it left. Because he had bought the System, he would probably even be able to access the shop in his next life if he wanted to buy something locked. Feeling complete after all of his mad spending, Seth said happily, "reincarnate me!" and disappeared. Completely unaware of the incoming disaster that would await him.

Seth truly is a rich man, I must hang on to his coattails. What will his next life be like? How will he deal with the impending doom of the gods?

Please tell me how I can do improve my story and writing. As I said, I am new to writing.
