Chapter 4

“Sorry,” he mouthed the word but still wouldn’t look at Jayden. Alex wanted to leave. He needed to be alone to think, though that meant leaving Jayden with Jake. What else could he do? He couldn’t do this, not if Jayden had his eyes on someone else.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Jake asked as Alex headed for the door. “Alex.” Jake took Alex’s upper arm. “You’re not going anywhere.”

“Why not?” Alex answered harshly. “I’m allowed to clear my mind after I caught my lover lusting over you.”

Jayden stood there frozen, while Jake looked shocked.

“What? Alex, what do you mean? Jayden and I just met.”

“He didn’t need to meet you to have the hots for you,” Alex spat. “At first he was afraid I’d be attracted to you but to be honest, sorry Jake, you’re not my type.”

“That’s okay,” Jake muttered.
