Chapter 3: Pilot

In my lab, the air grew charged with an inexplicable energy. I watched in astonishment as every liquid in the room defied gravity, hovering in mid-air.

The laws of physics seemed to bend and twist before my very eyes. Before I could fully comprehend what was happening, the storm's influence reached its apex.

In a blinding flash, lightning descended from the darkened skies, tearing through the atmosphere and striking me with a force that felt both exhilarating and terrifying.

The impact threw me off balance, propelling me into a chaotic cascade of glassware and chemicals. The world around me spun in a dizzying whirlwind, and darkness quickly consumed my consciousness.

Emergency responders acted swiftly, rushing me to the hospital, and fighting to keep me alive.

The medical staff worked with unwavering determination, their expertise honed to the highest degree. But as they monitored my vital signs, a sense of urgency filled the room.

My heart, beating at an unprecedented rate, defied the capabilities of the hospital's equipment. Its rapid rhythm perplexed the doctors and nurses, leaving them grappling with the limitations of their understanding.

The flatline displayed on the monitors was a misrepresentation of the life pulsating within me.

Iris, filled with fear and worry, rushed to his side, her eyes brimming with tears. Seeing him in such a vulnerable state, her voice trembled as she spoke, "Barry, please... wake up. You can't leave me like this."

In the depths of his coma, Barry's consciousness drifted into a realm where reality intertwined with the surreal.

It was there that he encountered a golden figure, an embodiment of lightning itself. Intrigued and somewhat bewildered, Barry began to question the enigmatic presence.

"So, I'm in a coma?" Barry asked, seeking confirmation.

The golden figure nodded, a playful glint in its eyes. "Yep! You're in a deep slumber, my friend."

Curiosity driving him forward, Barry continued his inquiries. "And you're here with me? Who or what are you?"

The figure's voice carried a tinge of melancholy. "I'm a personified version of the child who was robbed of living a full life, thanks to the wrath of angry yellow lightning. You could say I'm equipped with sarcasm and common sense, a contrasting reflection of our shared experiences."

Barry absorbed this information, his mind attempting to grasp the nature of this unusual presence. "So, it's like split personalities?"

The figure shook its head, a wry smile playing on its lips. "Not quite. We're not separate entities. We're intricately connected, but I manifest a different aspect of our shared consciousness."

Barry's brows furrowed as he tried to process this revelation. "How long will I be in this state?"

The figure's response came with a hint of mischief. "...Nine months."

Barry's eyes widened in disbelief. "What? Nine months? That's... that's a long time!"

As the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, Barry's comatose body remained under the vigilant care of Cisco Ramon and Dr. Caitlin Snow at S.T.A.R. Labs. They monitored his condition, tirelessly working to bring him back to the world of the living.

Then, as if a dormant power surged within him, Barry's eyes fluttered open. The sterile white walls of the lab greeted him, and he found himself surrounded by familiar faces, or what he thought should be because these weren't familiar or at least.

With my facial muscles, being completely frozen from the lack of exercise, "What the hell!?" was uttered from my now movable lips, as I was put under anesthesia.

.....

As I lay on the examination table, my mind still spinning from the whirlwind of events, Cisco and Caitlin hurriedly examined me. They exchanged wide-eyed glances, their concern palpable.

"Barry, man, you were in a coma," Cisco exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement. "Your heart was beating so fast that the EKG couldn't even register it!"

Caitlin chimed in, her voice laced with caution, "We need to run some tests, Barry. We have never seen anything like this before."

Just then, Dr. Wells, the once-respected scientist who had suffered the consequences of the particle accelerator explosion, entered the room. His presence demanded attention, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of curiosity and apprehension.

Cisco wasted no time in filling Wells in on the details of my coma. He painted a vivid picture of the lightning strike, the mysterious anomaly, and the ensuing explosion. Wells listened intently, his face etched with regret and determination.

"It ran smoothly for 45 minutes, and then... something happened," Wells explained, his voice carrying a tinge of remorse. "An anomaly and it caused the explosion."

As the weight of the situation settled on my shoulders, I couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility.

But what the hell was I responsible for? I didn't do sh*t and why am I using profanity so much, it's probably from experiencing too much stress and my dopamine being a little too high.

.....

As I made my way to CC Jitters, the familiar café where Iris worked as a waitress, I couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and nervousness. It had been months since I had last seen her, and the thought of our reunion filled me with both joy and trepidation.

As I entered the bustling café, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the sound of animated conversations enveloped me.

And there she was, Iris, moving gracefully between the tables, her smile illuminating the room. But as she caught sight of me, her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Barry?" she gasped, her voice filled with astonishment. "Is it really you? You're awake!"

A surge of emotions washed over me as I saw the genuine surprise and delight in her eyes. It was as if time stood still for that brief moment, and all I could focus on was the warmth of her presence.

Iris took my hand, guiding me to the back of the café. I could feel her excitement radiating off her, her words tumbling out in a rush.

It was overwhelming but in the best way possible. I knew deep down that being here, by her side, was exactly where I belonged.

Next, we headed to see Joe, my surrogate father and the man who had always been there for me. As I entered his office, Joe's eyes widened with a mixture of disbelief and unbridled joy.

"Barry, my boy! You're awake!" Joe exclaimed, pulling me into a tight embrace. "I can't believe it. I've missed you so damn much."

The reunion was bittersweet, a mix of relief and sorrow for the time we had lost. But at that moment, none of that mattered. We were together again, and the bond between us was stronger than ever.

As the day carried on, I couldn't help but notice something peculiar. Time seemed to bend and distort around me as if the world itself was shifting into slow motion. It was a fleeting sensation, lasting only for a second, but it left me bewildered and curious.

Suddenly, a commotion erupted nearby. Another waitress had slipped and fallen, and as I instinctively rushed to her aid, everything seemed to freeze.

The world stood still, except for me. I moved with lightning speed, effortlessly catching the falling waitress and ensuring her safety.

With her waist being grabbed by me, she said "W-wow, thanks..." as she contemplated how I got there.

The onlookers were left dumbfounded, their gazes filled with awe and confusion. I, too, struggled to comprehend the inexplicable display of speed and agility that had just unfolded before me.

Seeking solace and answers, I stepped outside, away from the prying eyes. As I held out my hand, I noticed an intense vibration coursing through it. It was as if my very essence was charged with an electrifying energy.

And then, to my astonishment, I found myself face-to-face with a younger version of myself. The child looked at me with wide-eyed wonder, a mirror image of the innocent and curious boy I once was.

"What's happening to me?" I whispered, my voice filled with a mixture of awe and confusion. But the child, my other self, only smiled knowingly, as if aware of the extraordinary journey that lay ahead.

As the mystery deepened and my newfound abilities manifested, I couldn't help but wonder what destiny had in store for me.

Little did I know that this encounter was just the beginning of an incredible adventure that would redefine my life and transform me into the hero Central City needed—the Flash.

Yet, I couldn't end it here and still say this biography would be complete if I didn't include this...

Tiny Barry went up to me and slammed his fast into my face and then proceeded to give a raspberry before saying "Loser~!" and speeding off in a show of insane speed.
