"What are you thinking about?" "I'm thinking about a guy." Jun Mo stopped in the middle of a deep kiss and sighed. His lips began to form a smile, but his fierce glare said otherwise. Possessiveness and jealousy spread across his sculpted face. "Will you tell me his name?" His easygoing and languid voice reached her ears. "Why?" "So that I can kill him."
A foul stench followed, as it was a giant Corpse Flower, also known as a Man-Eating Flower.
The flower tried to escape, but Qin Lily was prepared; she snapped her fingers, and a strange container quickly covered it, trapping it inside!
After dealing with the(demon flower), Qin Lily calmly stitched up Ye An's wound, applied some hemostatic medicine, and subtly used her healing powers to treat his injuries.
With the (demon flower) removed from his body and having consumed his life force, it could no longer sustain itself and would have to recover slowly.
When Ye An woke up and found that the lump in his belly was gone, he felt remarkably refreshed.
He was initially stunned, and then, tearfully grateful, he said to Qin Lily, "Miss, you truly are a divine doctor. I'm really healed!"
Qin Lily, with a mischievous glint in her eye, asked, "Young Master Ye, do you want to see the child you gave birth to?"
Ye An, upon hearing this, fell off the bed in shock. "I-I-I-I really…"
Was I really giving birth to a child?
Oh heavens, why didn't you just let me die instead!
Seeing his look of despair, Qin Lily's lips curled into a smirk as she sighed, "Ah, it's your own flesh and blood. Young Master Ye, don't you really want to see it?"
Ye An's face alternated between green and white, then turned pale again. Finally, he weakly extended his hand, saying, "W-Where is it?"
Qin Lily placed the container with the Corpse Flower in front of him. "Here. Your child. Take a look, it really does resemble you."
When Ye An saw it, his face grew even whiter. But since it was something that came from him, his curiosity got the better of him.
Shaking, he opened the lid of the container and said tremulously, "I-I-Is it…going to…hurt it if I open it?"
To his dismay, a foul stench emanated from the container, revealing a withered and extremely ugly flower lying inside.
Ye An was stunned. "M-My child?"
How could it be a flower?
Wasn't it supposed to resemble me?
It turned out to be a flower? He didn't know whether to feel disappointed or relieved.
Qin Lily laughed disdainfully. "What? Doesn't it look like you?"
Realization dawned on Ye An that he had been tricked by the divine doctor. Trembling with fear, he shrank back and said, "Divine Doctor!! You really scared me half to death. What on earth is this? It's so foul…"
Qin Lily stopped joking and said calmly, "Young Master Ye, you must have gone to a forest or some place with many strange plants recently. You ate something you shouldn't have, which allowed this demon flower with a bit of spiritual intelligence to take residence in your body."
Ye An was stunned. "Divine Doctor, you truly have a divine insight! A month ago, I did indeed visit a strange place. But… a flower could actually gain spiritual intelligence? Can a mere flower really become sentient?"
Qin Lily scoffed, "Don't underestimate the power of all living things. Demons and monsters are actually everywhere."
Ye An wanted to argue but couldn't, thinking of the妖花 (demon flower) that had once been inside him. He then considered something and said reverently, "If only there were immortals present. If there were legendary immortals, they would surely be able to subdue these demons and monsters!"
Qin Lily shrugged and said noncommittally, "Relying on others is not as reliable as relying on oneself. Besides my elder brother, I only trust myself."
Ye An didn't press the matter further and seriously thanked her, "Divine Doctor, your miraculous skills have saved my life. I truly don't know how to repay you. I imagine someone of your caliber would not care for material wealth, so I…"
Qin Lily cut him off, "No, Young Master Ye, you misunderstand. I'm actually very fond of the smell of money."
"Uh…" Ye An swallowed awkwardly. This was not the detached, otherworldly figure he had imagined.
Qin Lily smiled and said, "There's no need for formality. I know your family's business is prosperous, and though you may not have much else, you must have plenty of money, so feel free to throw as much money at me as you like."
Ye An: "......"
---
Ye An left with a complex expression on his face. Perhaps the contrast between Qin Lily's image of a detached, otherworldly sage and the reality was too great, leaving him in a daze until he finally departed.
Before leaving, however, he left behind a large stack of silver notes and promised to bring two boxes of gold back as soon as he returned.
Qin Lily was very satisfied, as she especially enjoyed people who would 'throw money at her instead of words.' She invited Ye An to return with more difficult cases in the future, assuring him that she would solve them!
Ye An hurried away, terrified.
---
"Lily, what illness did he have? Why did he leave so much silver?" Qin Huanji, in his wheelchair, came in with a puzzled look on his face.
Qin Lily smiled and said, "It was just a minor issue, but Young Master Ye is a generous person, so he left this much behind."
Qin Huanji found it strange. He had heard that Ye An was on the brink of death when he arrived. How could he be so lively after such a short time? Was Lily's medical skill really that impressive?
Qin Lily stuffed half of the silver notes into Qin Huanji's arms and laughed, "Brother, you're running out of medicine. I'll go gather some herbs and be back soon!"
Qin Lily didn't wait for Qin Huanji to respond and quickly ran off, fearing that he might ask more questions.
Qin Huanji watched her retreating figure with a deep, complex expression in his eyes.
Qin Lily went back to the medicinal herb gathering spot, continuing to pretend to gather herbs as a cover until her elder brother's leg healed.
To pass the time, she returned to the pond where she had rested before.
The pond was still crystal clear, and Qin Lily was surprised to see a new tray with clothes placed on the ground.
