Mei Deng hadn't heard everything, but felt he had a good grasp of the situation. He held onto Wang Tengfei's sleeve, and whispered to his hearing.
"General Wang, don't be such a bully, why must you try and take away their treasure? Isn't that too cruel?"
The general scoffed, "You're so concerned over others, don't you know my army also suffered?"
Mei Deng frowned, he knew it better than anyone, and didn't want to be reminded of it. Hence, he decided to stay out of the issue entirely.
"Tung, you don't mean that you're going to give our village treasure to him on a whim? I don't mean to question your decision, but your late father would not be pleased about it." Yingjie cautioned.
Tung sighed, "My father is passed, and I'm the village head. It's my decision to let him have the stone."
Yingjie wanted to object, but the general cut him off, "You should be more grateful to me, I'm the one incuring the wrath of your village over a myth."
