Song Jingren was inside the car on his way to the office as Assistant Lu handed him the iPad and began saying, "President, the Mathews wanted to cancel the deal. They are ready to pay the compensation." 

Song Jingren heaved out a sigh. It's not the first deal that got canceled this week. All of his business partners were slowly withdrawing from the deals that had been signed a long time ago. 

"The project is almost halfway done, " Song Jingren said. "What will they get instead of losses if they withdraw right now?"

"The Matthew family is going through a brutal succession, " Assistant Lu said. "Mr Ralph Matthew is sick. He wants one of his sons to succeed him but the nephew is a tough cookie who is giving his son a run for money. It's surprising that the moment the company went back on track, they canceled the biggest deal they signed with us."
