How We Originally Met

"You called, Father?" I said as I stood in front of him. "Ah, yes. As you've heard, the new emperor of Rosiello Empire will be arriving today. Dress nicely and make sure that you make a good impression," he said as he read some documents on his table. "Yes Father, I will," I replied and curtsied before I walked out of the room.

I will meet that man today. I do not know what he looks like, but from what I've heard, he's the alluring type. Well, we'll see later if he really is the same person from the rumors.

The palace is quiet today since everybody is busy preparing for the arrival of the Emperor. The clicks of my high-heeled shoes making contact with the marble floors were echoing in the halls.

I should start preparing too since everyone is busy doing their jobs. I should go the Blue Room today to pick a dress to wear.

The Blue Room is the room where we store the most expensive and valuable accessories and dresses. The room is not blue, but the reason why we call it 'Blue Room' is that the ladies from the Imperial Family go there whenever they're sad to cheer themselves up.

It is said that ladies want to cover themselves with pieces of jewelry when they're down, but that really isn't the case for me, and I rarely get sad so I wouldn't know how they feel about wearing all those jewels.

I opened the door and saw that the maids were already inside. "Your majesty," they said in sync. I walked in and immediately looked at the different dresses prepared for me.

Hmm... I want to wear something elegant.

A beige fitted dress caught my eye. "This. I want to wear this," I said as I lifted the dress. "Very well, Your Majesty. Let us help you get changed," Ellen said and took the dress from my hands.

We went to the changing room with another maid. They pulled the ribbon from my dress and helped me take it off.

As I changed into the dress I picked, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of man the new emperor is.

Is he the serious type? The cute type? The cold type? I don't know. I heard a few rumors that he had blonde hair, fair skin, and round eyes. Another rumor said that he had brown hair, fair skin, and narrow eyes. I don't know which one is true, which makes me wonder what he really looks like.

After changing, we went out of the changing room and they started fixing my hair and putting some accessories on my neck, ears, and hand. They also put light makeup on my face and put a new pair of shoes on my feet.

I stood up when they finished everything and looked at my reflection in the body-sized mirror. My hair was tied up, my makeup suits my dress, and the dress emphasizes my body shape really well.

"Thank you," I said to the maids and smiled. I heard a knock from the door and asked one of the maids to open it. Another maid was standing outside and said, "Your Majesty, the Emperor of Rosiello Empire will arrive shortly. His Imperial Majesty is requesting for your presence," she said as she bowed. "Alright, I'll head down soon," I said and smiled.

Before leaving the room, I looked at my reflection again.

Do I look okay? I shook my head and whispered to myself, "You look alright, Krishiella."

One of the maids opened the door for me, and I immediately headed down to wait for the new emperor with my family. After a lot of steps and turns, I finally arrived in front of the throne room. The knights opened the door for me, and I walked in with a graceful posture.

My Father and Mother were sitting next to each other. Sitting next to my Father is my Brother, Nikolai, and my seat is next to my Mother. Originally, there are only two seats—one for the Emperor, and one for the Empress, but since today is a special day, they also put ours.

Before I went to mine, I stopped in front of my family and curtsied. I went to my seat and sat. We waited for the new emperor quietly. After a few minutes, the doors opened widely, welcoming a man and a few of his knights. "The emperor of Rosiello Empire is now entering," declared one of our knights.

I couldn't help but feel astonished when I saw him. He has jet black hair, thick eyebrows, mesmerizing dark narrow eyes, a tall nose, soft pink lips, and a sharp jawline.

Even without his good looks, he would still stand out because of his lean, muscular, and tall figure. He looks so different from what I have heard from the rumors, and he absolutely exceeded my expectations.

I've encountered a lot of good-looking men, but no one could compare to his looks. He looks like he's a sculpture that was carefully made by the greatest sculptor of all.

I could stare at him all day and never get tired of it.

We all stood up as he walked toward us. He stopped in front of us and bowed to show his respect to the Imperial Family. "Greetings to the Imperial Family of Mortcombe Empire. I'm Emperor Vaughn Rosiello of Rosiello Empire," he said and raised his head.

We did the same to show our respect—my Mother and I curtsied, and my Father and Brother bowed. "Greetings, Your Imperial Majesty," we said in sync.

He slowly walked closer to us. My eyes widened a bit when I realized that he was walking toward me, but I regained my composure immediately.

I have to be calm at all times. I shouldn't get flustered. But... why is he walking my way?

He stopped in front of me and knelt on one knee. He held my hand and said, "I've come a long way to see the beauty of the Mortcombe Empire." He looked at me straight in the eyes as if he was implying that his words have a double meaning. "Your Majesty, it is my honor to be here with you," he said and kissed my hand.

"It really is a great pleasure to have the princess as my wife."
