First Day

Today is the day I'm finally going to be a student in the academy.

One of the knights opened the carriage for me, and the other one offered his hand to help me get down.

"Are you nervous, Your Majesty?" I looked at him and shook my head as I smiled, "No, I'm not." Noah smiled and said, "That's good, then."

Yes, Noah.

In exchange for letting me study here, my Father told me that I should be accompanied by a knight so I'm still protected even if I'm far from the palace.

*Flashback*

"Alright. You can go." I almost jumped in joy when I heard what Father said. I hid my excitement and happiness by putting on a calm face, though my hands are shaking a bit. I smiled sweetly and thanked him.

"But in one condition." I tilted my head a bit. Why is there a condition? "You must be accompanied by a knight. We never know what might happen there. I'll have the security tightened in the academy, too," he said with a serious face.

What?

"Father!" I said as my calm demeanor was finally ruined. "Do not raise you voice, Krishiella. Do not question my decisions, too. I'm doing this for your sake. Even if the academy's security is already tight, you should still be careful. I'm sending a knight with you so I could rest assured that you are in good hands," he said as he rested his elbows on the table and intertwined his fingers.

I did not speak for a while to regain my composure. "I have nothing more to say, Father," I said as I bowed my head a bit.

He's right, and I can't do anything about it. I'm still a part of the Imperial Family, so I can't be too carefree since my safety will always be at risk especially if there's no one to protect me.

"Very well. I'll inform the knights so they could send the strongest knight around your age. The knight will also join you in your classes, so he will be your classmate." If he's really going to send a knight, then...

"Father, may I request for a specific knight to come with me?" I fumbled my fingers nervously, waiting anxiously for his reply. "Go ahead," he said and smiled.

I let out a sigh of relief mentally when I heard his response. At least he let me choose my knight. Well, it is understandable why Father agreed to my request without a second thought.

Every knight working under the Imperial Family is more than capable of protecting me. No knight under our family's command is weak.

"Noah. Sir Noah Haynes. I want him to be my knight," I said and smiled. "Alright. I will inform him. You can go now," he said and smiled at me.

I looked at his table and saw that there were a few papers left. But when the pile of papers on the floor caught my eye, I suddenly felt my energy draining.

Wow, that's a lot of work. I guess I should really leave now.

"Okay, Father. Thank you," I said and curtsied before coming out.

When I closed the door, a victory smile was plastered on my face as I walked back to my room.

*End of flashback*

"Shall we head in?" Noah said as he smiled sweetly at me. That smile of his is always on his face. It makes me think that this man rarely ever gets sad.

I nodded, and we both headed inside the gates. The carriages were only allowed outside of the campus since the security was extra tight since I'm here, so we have to walk by ourselves.

"Your things will arrive later in the afternoon, Princess. I will inform you once they have already arrived," he said as we walked. "Is that so? Then please do, thank you," I said while still facing straight.

Oh no. Even if I said that I wasn't nervous, my words were very contradictory compared to what I really feel like. I'm so nervous that I can feel my stomach getting queasy that I feel like I might throw up anytime.

"You look very nervous, Princess," he said and chuckled. "I told you, I'm not!" I retorted. "If you say so," he said and shrugged. I grunted and rolled my eyes.

It's still very early in the morning, yet he's already teasing me.

"Your Majesty, from what I've heard, the first day of classes is literally the day classes actually start.. The teachers will begin the lessons, and for the next few days, the lessons and activities will be harder. Do you really want to study here? It's quite taxing," Noah said and glanced at me.

Ah... I did not know that it would be like that. But... if it's for the library, I guess... "I still want to study here." He smiled at my response and said, "That's good then."

I can feel my eyelids getting heavier. I can't believe that what Noah said was actually true. This is the third day of classes, and my energy has already been drained.

I've never been a huge fan of studying, although I'm quite intelligent. Discussions about lessons are mentally draining, which is why I actually prefer studying by myself. But now... I'm already here, so I might as well adjust myself to fit in here.

"Sleepy?" I looked at the person seated next to me and glared at him. "Yes, but thanks to you, not anymore," I whispered and fixed my posture. He chuckled softly, and whispered, "I guess I give you energy, huh? Hug me whenever you need a recharge."

Every. Single. Day. He finds a way to annoy me more.

"Stop talking to me," I whispered and tried to focus in class. "I don't wanna," he whispered and smiled at me.

Oh, how I'd love to wipe that annoying smile off of his face.

He still kept talking to me, but I chose to ignore him. "Ah~ The princess is such a snob," he whispered. I rolled my eyes mentally and still ignored him. "The princess really hates me," he whispered again.

"Adonis, please stop talking. I promise I'll talk to you later," I whispered, still facing straight and listening to the teacher.

This man is really getting on my nerves. So annoying.
