Ball

This is it. The is the moment I've been waiting for.

The knights opened the door widely. I lifted my chin up and walked gracefully as I entered the ballroom.

Everbody's eyes were on me. I smiled as they looked at me with adoration, and some with jealousy. It is understandable that some of them may feel like that. After all, I am the most beautiful lady in this room.

"Princess Krishiella." A man stood in front of me and bowed his head. He raised his head afterward and looked at me with smiling eyes. "I'm Jeffrey Laurens, son of Viscount Laurens. Would you like a dance with me?" He said as he offered his hand.

I gazed upon his hand and smiled sweetly at him. "I'm sorry, Sir Laurens, but I have to decline," I said and continued walking. I stood near the window overlooking the maze made of bushes located outside, and scanned the whole room to look for Vaughn, but to no luck, I did not even see his shadow.

"Hello, Princess." A familiar man stood before me. He has princely features that looked pleasing to the eyes. He has straight glossy blond hair, ocean blue eyes with long eyelashes, tall narrow nose, and thin pink lips.

"Sir Savior?" I gasped, shocked. "The one and only," he said as he held my hand and placed a soft kiss on it. My mouthed gaped as I could not believe that the man before me is really him. "I thought you weren't human," I whispered. He bit his lower lip as if trying to stop himself from laughing. "Oh, I am a human, Your Majesty. I just have a bit of magic. That's all," he said and winked.

"What is your name, Sir Savior?" Before he could even answer my question, a man approaching us called out his name. "Lord Ethan Reynolds," the man said as he approached us. "Ethan...?" I whispered his name under my breath. "Lord Adonis Castiello," Ethan said and bowed at Adonis.

"Oh, you're here, Princess?" He said as if it was the most peculiar thing he has ever witnessed. "Is it that odd that I'm here at my home, Lord Adonis?" I said as I raised my brow at him. "No, it's not that. I just thought that it's odd that you're here, when it looks like you haven't dressed up for the ball," he taunted as his lips curved into a smirk.

This man really makes my blood boil. God, how annoying he is!

I could feel the ends of my lips twitching as I tried to regain my composure. "Oh, I feel the same way towards you, Adonis. What you're wearing looks like... pfft," I eyed him from head to toe as I gave him a mocking smile, "... a rag," I continued.

Before he could even speak again, Ethan stood between us and said, "Lord Adonis, what might your business be?" Adonis could only take a peek at me from Ethan's shoulder. I saw the ends of his lips curve into a smile as he gave me a disgusted look in his eyes. "I just wanted to greet you. We haven't seen each other for a long time, you know," he said as he looked at Ethan.

I wouldn't be shocked if he says he likes Ethan. This bastard looks at him very differently compared to the way he looks at me. I hate him so much I could die.

Oh, that wasn't very lady-like of me, was it?

"How do you know the princess, Ethan?" Adonis asked as he took a peek at me once more. Ethan chuckled and said, "Speaking informally, huh?" Adonis just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Why, of course. We've been friends for a very long time."

I never knew Adonis knew Ethan. Then again, even I did not know that Ethan was actually a human. Maybe I never paid much attention to my surroundings before, and was just focusing on what was in front of me. Also, Adonis and I weren't very close either. It's no doubt that I do not know that they knew each other.

"Well, I met the princess just now and we somehow felt a spark between us," Ethan said and winked at me. Adonis' raised his left brow and looked at Ethan from head to toe. Ethan turned to look at him and he changed his facial expression back to what it was before.

Hah, this two-faced bastard.

"Oh? A spark, you say? The princess and I felt a spark between the two of us ten years ago, too," Adonis said, as if competing with Ethan. I looked at him with disgust and protested, "What spark? You mean a battle of nerves has sparked between us, Adonis." I rolled my eyes in annoyance. He chuckled and said, "You're still as hot-headed as ever, Krishiella."

I pushed Ethan aside and stepped closer to Adonis while glaring daggers at him. "Excuse me? I am definitely not hot-headed. You are just way too annoying, that you have caused a drastic change to my attitude," I said as my eyebrows scrunched. "But isn't that a good thing? It's a good thing to feel another type of emotion from time to time, right?" He said and smiled at me. "Ugh, whatever! You irritate me," I said as I left the two of them there.

I'm sure Ethan can handle Adonis. It doesn't really matter if I don't get to see Ethan later. As long as I know his name, I can find him wherever he is. What the bigger problem is Vaughn's whereabouts.

My eyes scanned the whole room once again in search of Vaughn, and my whole body froze as I saw him in the middle of the ballroom, dancing with another lady.

"Vaughn..." I called out his name softly as I slowly walked towards his direction. Before I could even go farther, I felt a hand on my wrist, grabbing me. I turned to see who it was, and was shocked to see that it was Ethan.

"What are you doing?" I said as I looked at him with a pained expression. He shook his head and said, "Krishiella, I'm sorry to break this into you, but you are not supposed to end up with Vaughn."
