08. AT THE LOBBY

That's when I received a call from mom.

"Tiara, I am so sorry my dear! My secretary came to pick me up. There is something urgent for me to take care of. I can't make it back for dinner tonight. I will be back late at night. You need not wait for me. Good to bed early. Good night....toot...toot".

My mom worked for the Global entertainment company.

It has got many branches in some of the most famous cities around the world. She transferred to the France branch so that she could stay close to me.

I informed Lila about the situation. She seems to be a bit disappointed. But I was so used to this.

I informed her about Larry's plans for Ashley's birthday on Saturday.

Lila's face lit up again with those sparkly eyes again.

We were almost at the lobby of my apartment.

There are 20 floors in each building of skyline apartments. Each floor contains 2 apartments. There are five buildings in the skyline. It is quite a luxurious suite.

My apartment is on the 14th floor. I even enjoy night views from my balcony. We were speaking while waiting for the lift to come down.

Lila's face always brightens up when I mention Larry.

Her happiness is too obvious that it is difficult to ignore it.

She revealed to me that she had a crush on Larry. I am rather enthusiastic when it comes to observing people and listening to their stories.

"Do you really like him so much, Lila?" [Tiara]

"Of course, I like him." [Lila]

"He is so handsome and brilliant. He has such a deep voice. He is also a top student in your class. His golden color eyes shine as brightly as his golden hair. He has an easy-going personality. He is admired by everyone and very popular among girls"

Gosh! She was explaining as if she was making a point on her notes.

Though it was none of my business. I slightly hesitated to say this to her.

"But do you really know him that well yet?" [Tiara]

"I mean you are not even in the same school as him. What if it is..."

I hesitated for a moment.

At the same time, the lift came down.

Lila looked at me. She was waiting for me to complete my sentence.

We entered the lift and while she pressed the 14the floor button.

I tried to continue.

"What if...".

We turned around to face the lift door. The lift door was about to close.

And that's when a man's hand was placed in between the closing of the lift door.

The lift was quite spacious. But Lila and myself were the only people who were occupying it.

There are lots of big shots residing in skyline apartments.

And I was startled by the sudden appearance of a man's hand. The lift door opened up. I looked at the man.

He was staring at Lila. Lila was also blankly staring at him with a mixed expression on her face.
