As promised, Chace cooked dinner. A scrumptious meal of Mongolian beef noodles and spring rolls.
"Wow. I'm surprised! Thank you for a really good meal." I said with a smile.
"You're surprised?" he smirked.
"Well, a lot of men are clueless in the kitchen. Actually, things in general. So it's surprising someone as successful as you, not to mention good looking is very much skilled in a lot of things." I stopped when I realized I let my tongue say more than it should.
"Sorry for all the blabbering." I said blushing.
"No need to apologize. I like it when you express yourself freely." he said reassuringly.
"Go on. How else do you see me?" he continued.
I hate being put on the spot. Besides, why the sudden interest now of how I think of you? I thought to myself.
"Does it matter?" I asked.
"I remember you saying you don't care what other people think about you." I continued.
"You're not just other people now, are you?" Chace retorted.
"Psshh. Don't be such a tease. I might believe you." I replied brushing him off.
I got up and started cleaning up the table.
He looked at me as if about to say something but chose not to. He got up as well and helped me with clearing up the table.
After we were done, I went upstairs and Chace followed behind me. I sat down on the bed and looked at him.
"I'm on my period today so go ahead if you want to shower already." I told him.
"You think blood can stop me from doing things?" he arched an eyebrow while asking me.
I just stared at him in disbelief and confusion.
"I'm kidding. I'll shower now so you can go afterwards. Relax and take your time. There will be no intrusion this time." he said smiling.
After Chace was done, I went in and took a nice warm shower. I'm having a bit of pain though so I hurriedly finished my night time routine.
I went straight to bed and curled into a ball.
"How are you feeling?" he asked me.
"A bit uncomfortable." I muttered.
Just then I felt something warm on my lower abdomen. I looked down and saw that Chace put a hot compress bag on me.
" Uhhn. Thank you very much. This feels nice." I said.
Chace then put a blanket over us and cuddled me.
"Is that why you're a bit off?" he asked me.
"Hmmm..?" I asked
" You seem to be a bit distant and edgy today." he pointed out with a calm tone.
"Oh! Is that so?" was all I managed to say.
"Uh hmm." he hummed while giving me a peck on the side of my head.
How can I tell him that I'm keeping my distance on purpose so I don't get my heart in trouble? But to think about it, this might have a little something to do with the period, actually. Hormones are crazy and I tend to be overwhelmed with things that usually don't bother me.
Regardless, Chace seems to be really understanding. I just put a hand over his that's draped across my waist. He then took it and interlaced our hands together.
His other hand reached for the remote and turned the lights off. I closed my eyes and in a few minutes, I drifted off to dreamland.
The next morning, the weather still wouldn't let up. I lightly groaned and closed my eyes again. I think I'll want to stay in bed literally the whole day today.
"Good morning. How are you?" Chace asked nuzzling my cheek.
"Good morning. Still in pain. I rarely get period pains but when I do, I can barely stand up." I said frowning.
"Just relax then. There's nothing else to do anyways." he replied with a smile while caressing the side of my face.
He then gave me a quick kiss on the lips then stood up. On his way to the door, he grabbed a shirt to wear which gave me an access to check out his muscular back and firm behind.
"Horniness can't be defeated even in pain." I thought to myself while sighing silently.
After almost half an hour, Chace came back with a lap tray. It contains a hearty bowl of tomato soup and a cheese toastie, a glass of water and medicine.
"Smells good." I said while he put the tray on my lap.
"Aren't you going to eat?" I asked him.
"I will in a bit. Just making sure you have yours first so you can drink some pain meds." he replied.
"Thank you. I'll eat now then." I said grabbing my spoon.
"Mmmm. Thank you. That was really nice." I complimented him after I finished and then took the medicine.
"No worries. Let me know if you need anything." Chace replied.
"Thank you. Don't spoil me too much though. I might get used to it." I teased.
But in my head, it goes more of like " I might fall for you."
I quickly dispelled the thought away and just gave him a cheeky smile.
He responded by kissing my forehead and took the tray away.
After finishing his own breakfast, Chace came back with his laptop. He sat beside me and started working on something. I continued on reading the book in my hands.
Almost an hour later, I feel the medicine taking effect. I started to feel a bit better but also sleepy. I put the book down and propped my head up with my pillow. I started feeling my eyelids getting heavier and let sleep take over me.
Feeling much better, I woke up to an even better weather. I look at Chace who fell asleep as well and is now laying down beside me.
Come to think of it, he's always busy and I don't see him take some extra time off for rest. It's good to see him getting a much deserved sleep.
I looked at him intently and studied his features. It's the first time I can ogle him without him noticing so I took my time to appreciate the view.
