"Cold Tears "

Her grandparents had handled everything after their arrival. Having cried her eyes out the doctors had decided to give her some seductive so she could sleep more.

Rimuel had arrived two hours later after Essie. He had watched over her the whole night not leaving her side.

Essie informed her and Vanita's close friends while her grandmother informed the other family friends and members.

Vanita felt her hand being held when she woke up. Looking down her eyes landed on Rimuel's sleeping face. He felt her hand move waking him up.

She started at him without saying a word and he did the same. Silence filled the room with no one saying a word to each other, his hand was still holding hers.

"Am sorry I was late " he finally said sitting next to her.

She was still silent but he could see her tears start flowing again. They had told him she had been crying and not saying a word.

His hold on her hand tighten, " I know what your going through is overwhelming and am sorry I wasn't there but am here now. So please talk to me "

She remained quiet.

Rimuel didn't say anything more and sat next to her in silence. Her grandparents came in later to help her leave after her discharge papers were finished.

"Love, let's go home so you can change, " her grandfather said as he gently helped her into the car.

Rimuel drove back home to change so he could be there with Vanita at the funeral.

His father and the others were all ready when he got home, " Hurry up upstairs and get dressed so we can all go".

Just like how they were all feeling, the weather was also gloomy. It started raining soon after they arrived at the cemetery.

Essie and her parents helped with the preparations so tho gs went smoothly. She stood there under her grandparent's umbrella with a blank cold face.

She didn't wait for the condolences from the guests who had come and went up to her room.

Even after Essie begged her to open the door she remained silent.

"I don't think my best friend is there anymore," Essie told Rimuel who was standing next to her leaving him alone at her door.

He sighed knocking at her door, " I just want you to know that I love you so much " he said before walking away.
