Back at home Mark and I stretched out on the couch while Sam got himself comfortable in the armchair.
“Thanks for taking us out,” Sam said. “It’s so different seeing stuff for real rather than just reading about it in books.”
“Yeah, thanks, love.” Mark pulled me to him and gave me a kiss.
I snuggled against his chest. “My pleasure.” I yawned. “It’s a lot easier getting to places by car.”
We sat for a while just gazing into the fire, warming our toes.
“Do you want to watch anything on the telly, Sam?” Mark asked.
“No thanks. But put on some music if you want.”
“I’ve got a new Country and Western tape.”
Both Sam and I groaned.
