Firearms in a World of Magic

[This novel has been discontinued.] In world of magic and mythical creatures, who wouldn't dream of living there? From incredibly tall and steep mountains to floating islands with huge waterfalls going down below to the endless horizon of sea. Legendary magicians capable of destroying whole mountain ranges, druids terraforming an entire desert into a lush tropical paradise and even more exciting stuff. Last but not least, magic. The concept of mana all around everything. Being able to spark a fire without using a lighter to flying endlessly on the blanket of clouds in the cold breezy sky. There's no questioning why people wouldn't practice magic. However, there was a man who reincarnated in that said world and unfortunately for him, he had little to no talent in magic. Regardless of that; on one fateful day, he suddenly woke up to the surprise of a firearm by the side of his bed. That was when he knew, he didn't need magic after all. “If I can't use magic, I'll just use my knowledge of guns to make up for it!” He said, not knowing what was to come in the future. --- If you want to be quick, you can skip to Chapter 8. The synopsis does already covers some of it but you'll miss out at the characters.

"Hmmm. I rate these wonderful sexy curves a great and generous 9/10. Oh, look at that." Kaalsuo admired the fine curves and reviewed the wonderful object.

The wonderful object wasn't a human nor was it even a human being. It was just a wooden horse toy that would rock back and forth which was currently in process of being carved by a carpenter. His mother had brought over the carpenter to carve some wood into toys that he could play with, supposedly.

Nonetheless, through his accumulated intel of the house and it's surroundings, he had discovered that he had been living amongst uncivilised and heretic savages; siblings. He was devastated once he came to realise that unfortunate discovery. However, it was a bit illogical since he still had the problem of the language barrier between him and his family.

One of the key information that Kaalsuo had gained was that he likely had an older brother named Churnol. He actually had never seen his brother with his own eyes. The only clue to his existence was of his belongings and some notes on the walls.

Of course, Kaalsuo still couldn't clearly see with his vision and he filled in the vague shapes of objects with his interpretations. Churnol's belongings were nothing special and the said objects were mostly simple metal trinkets and some handful of clothes.

Kaalsuo also couldn't tell the time very accurately due to the fact this world didn't seem to have a functioning calendar or at least didn't exist yet which was a bad sign that meant he was likely living in an primitive society. Hell, even medieval peasants on Earth could tell the time.

Based on the that, Kaalsuo knew that his family didn't have a calendar or a way to tell the time too with the exception of the sun. Without a calendar, he couldn't precisely detail the age of his siblings and resorted to assumptions.

There was still a possibility Kaalsuo simply hadn't discovered the calendar yet but he figured that it was unlikely. Though, his siblings wasn't a humongous priority for now. He wasn't even a month old and already was prioritising names, languages or other random stuff he could've possibly cared about. Kaalsuo had the time of the world at his hands and it was up to him to decide to do it thus he chose to just shrug it off and care about it later.

Out of nowhere, his mother called for what looked like a seven year old boy running and rolling down the hill several meters from the house like a barrel with his friends.

The overall appearance was of his mother's. Judging by the heavy abundance of stratches and scars, this kid likely had the knack for playing around roughly.

"Hey, Zweschez! Come here and visit the house once a while alright? You didn't even come home when you heard the baby was arriving." His mother scolded him.

Surprisingly, Kaalsuo felt like he recognised that name somewhere before. It also felt a bit familiar too as it resembled a certain name from Earth.

'Zweschez.. Zwes Chez..' Then it struck on him.

Kaalsuo immediately knew why he seemed to recognise the name of the kid. The name was fitting as the region around him looked uncannily similar to the valleys of Switzerland.

'Nice name, Swiss Cheese'

"But Mom, you do know that I was the last to hear the news right?" Zweschez bluffed trying to escape his mother to play with his friends. Too bad his mother wasn't convinced.

"You're truly a genius at bluffing but unfortunately, I've caught on to your lies. You were the very first person to hear the news and went on to pass on the information to the entire village. C'mere, take a look at your little brother."

Zweschez seemed to be ecstatic and eager about meeting his little brother but through Kaalsuo's experience in school back on Earth, we could perceive that Zweschez only had a miniscule amount of eagerness in him.

Zweschez pretended to begin caring about his little brother and made some several strange yet rather cringy faces.

He then proceeded to ask his mother if he could play with his friends and immediately stormed off into the distance the moment his mother nodded to the question.

Kaalsuo had no idea what had just happened but he didn't care nonetheless. After that werid interaction he just had, he felt tired so he did what he deemed necessary and slept once again.

* A week later *

Kaalsuo was now officially a month old, he was very proud of this achievement of somehow enduring all this boredom by becoming a sloth.

Sleep pushed him through all those hard obstacles which were called boredom. He basically didn't have anything to do besides sleeping, eating, bathing and perceive his surroundings. He had memorised every detail of his room that he could see from his perspective. He would often watch bugs fly randomly around the room and the others crawling minding their own business.

His personal favourite was the ants. The ants would crawl on the straw walls scavenging food and other resources for their colony.

If reincarnation include becoming whatever that was alive, he was really thankful that he wasn't chosen to reincarnate as an insect or a microscopic living speck inside someone's anus.

Besides the other useless information like the above, he finally got a concept on how the magic worked in this world.

He had remembered that from his memories of reading a large amount of novels on Earth, he had to first sense the mana of the world. Too bad his luck stat (if he even had one) was in the negatives as he couldn't feel anything but an itchy ass.

'Why must figuring magic be so hard? I could do the trial and error method but that's gonna take forever.'

He did know he still was a newborn but he oftentimes would immediately give up in tasks required for a certain prolonged amount of time. He just couldn't do it without the need of procrastinating.

One of the information he had acquired was that supposedly, his father was planning to head back home to see his newborn baby. His mother didn't clearly blabber what kind of job he did but his mother did occasionally brag about her husband's achievement in his job. One of the examples of his achievements was that he had apparently wrestled a bear in a fist fight and ended up knocking the bear out.

Of course, all of this information was all assumed by Kaalsuo due to his language barrier but considering this was a fantasy world, he had assumed it anyways

Kaalsuo was in the middle of revising the intel of what he currently had of his father when suddenly,

"Chrysea, I'm back!" Someone shouted using all of the air in his lungs to generate that sound.
