A Rainy Day.......ig? (Past 5.0)

Friday. It is pouring hard. The last class is about to end. I haven't been in contact with Mac and Steve for 4 days because of my injury in head. They always see through my lies I don't know how. I'm surprised that I survived 4 DAYS though. The bandage is still a bit visible underneath my twisted bangs. Just not to make him worried, I haven't even visited Steve in the hospital too. I miss them more now and I'm worried about Steve's health too. I'll visit him no matter what today. But this rain! Worst timing! I don't even have my umbrella. I'm kind of low on budget too. Sigh!

KRINGGGG!!!

Okay. The class ended with the rain pouring even harder.

Oh God! Logan-senpai can be scary at times. Eek! He even used fullstop. I had to beg him that Monday for letting me play this match. Thanks to Neo's help, we won.

I'm at the entrance already. I changed my shoes in the locker and stood near the entrance. I guess most club got suspended today except some indoor club activities. I sat on the stairs of the entrance waiting for the rain to stop. School is almost empty. There are some couples roaming around the school ground under 1 umbrella and being lovey-dovey. I SWEAR TO GOD both of them has umbrella but instead of using it they are just fooling around. Cringe people. At least they could lend me one! Sigh. I close my eyes. The scent, sound and drizzling of raindrops is just too beautiful. I murmured by myself,

"Beautiful."

"Indeed, it is." someone whispered in my ear. I was a bit surprised and turned behind at once.

"Yeah! Totally beautiful," Neo whispered again staring right into my eyes. His yellow eyes kind of remind me of my cat though.

"What's beautiful?" I asked without moving from my position.

"Exactly what I'm seeing right now," Neo said still staring into my eyes.

"Oh? I prefer you get your eyes checked then."

"Haha! Typical Lynn! That's what I love about you. Oh sorry, am I too close?" Neo jumped away from me.

"Doesn't matter."

"Then...waiting for Austin to come and take you home?"

"I thought he went home?"

"Did he ever go before you?"

"I told him to as I've been doing extra practice after school everyday afterall. But it's raining so his basketball and mine baseball practice both got suspended, I guess? So he must have gone home. But you can be in 2 clubs at a time and he never really mentioned about being in another club to me. I was never interested in chitchats about him so I don't really know. If I check his locker, I would know right away. I have a master key of unlocking all locks of our school and I also figured out all the passwords too. But I'm too lazy to barge into his personal stuffs. Hence, it was just a mere hypothesis he went home."

"Man! You really are something. No wonder you're known as the Lynn Holmes."

"What else can you expect." I shrugged.

"Anyways Neo what're you doing here? Isn't the volleyball court inside?"

"Uh huh. Nothing is possible to hide from you huh? Well....I'm ditching. Logan told me to make sure you don't get drenched."

"Wow, Logan-senpai can be a real headache sometimes."

"I don't mind though. I'd love to accompany you anywhere."

"Yea yea dumbness and weirdness flows in blood they say."

"Haha. So Lady Evelynn, will you let me escort you to your destination in this stormy weather? It's not so gentle for a gentleman like me to leave a lady alone in trouble afterall," asked Neo while kneeling down a bit and reaching out his hands towards me.

"Sure....MR. GENTLEMAN~" I said in a teasing tone taking his hands and shoving it right away. I go ahead of Neo as he is getting his umbrella. As soon as he notices I'm already gone, he run after while shouting,

"Wait, wait! Which Lady goes ahead leaving her Man behind?"

"The Lady you decided to escort."

Austin's POV:

I had to inform the music club about today's suspension by myself. President is absent today and so is Steven. Sigh! I'm rushing towards entrance right now hoping Lynn's still there. I hide myself behind the locker at once when I see Neo and Lynn talking I don't know why. I should just go out there and say 'Hi'. Suddenly Neo bows down and extends his hands towards and she takes it. I know I shouldn't but why do I feel so insecure all of a sudden? No no. Neo is my best buddy. I shouldn't doubt him but still I do feel like he's sometimes hitting on Lynn when I'm not around. Okay, they are going somewhere together and even sharing an umbrella. Even though I want to follow them but still I decide to leave them alone and walk back to my apartment on my own.

Neo's POV:

So I'm going to visit Steven at hospital with Lynn. I thought about visiting him many times but he never really gave me the address of the hospital. So grabbing the chance with Mr. Lynn Holmes of our school. But it sure is uncomfortable to walk with a girl under same umbrella even though it's Lynn.

"Lynn."

"Lynn?"

"LYNN!?"

"Yea-yeah?"

"What do you seem so worried about?"

"You know... "

"No I don't know. Come straight."

"Cricket match's day after tomorrow so..."

"Ah I get it. I get nervous before all of my volleyball matches. Don't worry you'll do better than you think you do now."

"Let's see. They won't be there though."

"Oh Steve and Mac. What about your paren-"

"No they won't be coming."

"If you have siblin-"

"No chance."

I feel like I'm rubbing her in the wrong way. Her responses are kind of scary.

"Uh uh...DON'T WORRY! ME AND AUSTIN WILL COME AND CHEER YOU UP!"

"No need. Oil your own machine."

"Stop pushing us away. And he's your boyfriend you know."

"Then he should've told me about it by himself. Not go there just because you told him to."

"Well um..." FUCK YOU AUSTIN! YOU DIDN'T TELL HER YOU'LL GO AND CHEER HER UP? EAT YOUR EGO, MAN.

"Uh huh, Lynn, maybe he wanted to surprise you."

"Oh yeah it could be."

"Hehe." YOU BETTER THANK ME AUSTY. I SAVED YOU THERE.

"So Lynn, what do you like about him?"

"He's annoying but bold. Most guy chickens out these days."

"But most importantly our STONE COLD EVELYNN WAS BLUSHING-"

Now that I see, she full drenched in rain on her left side. She takes her cap off and water was dripping off her hair. Man! How can I be so irresponsible!?

We're in front of Steven's cabin. Lynn knocks on the door. She is kind of hesitating.

Knock knock

"Come in," Steven says from inside the room.

I go in first and Lynn's behind me.

"Steve, man, how's it going?"

"Wow, Senpai? You came to visit me?"

"Yeah though you didn't give me the address."

"Haha sorry about that."

"Good." I ruffle his hair. "Volleyball club isn't fun without you."

"Ah I see..." he tilts his head a bit to look behind me. "Evie!? Where've you been? No texts, no calls. Not even visiting me. And how the hell did you hurt your head?"

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."

"Yeah yeah. Me and Mac gone for some time and your clumsy ass already decided to hurt yourself."

Oh no. I was my fault actually. But I shouldn't barge in between them, should I?

"I just didn't want to worry you guys. My bad."

"Haha okay okay I get it. Nothing new. But your this way is wrong. You'll worry us more like this."

"Hm hm."

"So why are you half wet?"

"Thanks to the gentleman over there that I'm not at least full wet."

"Yeah but heyyyy!!" I try to defend myself but-

"I'm not blaming you, Neo," Lynn says.

"Ok ok my bad for not noticing."

"So how do you two know each other?" Steve asks while laughing.

"Oh! You see. She's dating Austin and as his best buddy I'm bound to know her too." I said.

"NEO!" Lynn suddenly shouted.

"I see. And you didn't let me know," Steve sounds disappointed. His smile faded away.

Wait wait, did I say something I shouldn't have!?

"Listen Steve. I'm sorr-" Lynn tried to apologise.

"Nahhh. It's fine. Your life your wish afterall. Does Mac know?"

"No but-"

"Alright. You don't have to and if you don't want me to either, you can say so."

"It's nothing like that Steve-"

"No no. Don't worry. We'll both support your decision." Steve said with a smile which rather seemed painful. He then turned his gaze towards me and said,

"Neo-senpai, it's getting late and the rain has also stopped. I'm feeling kind of dizzy too and visiting hour is almost over. I think you guys should get going."

"Ok then. Take care, Steven." I wished him.

Lynn went to give him a hug but Steve strictly rejected it. It's kind of weird and rare to see these sides of Lynn and Steven. Why though? Why is everything becoming so cold suddenly?

"Senpai, make sure to drop Evelynn home safely." Steve told me and turned backwards.

"Don't worry about it. Just get well soon."

Evelynn leaves without saying anything. I follow her out. She whispers by herself,

"He called me Evelynn instead of Evie."

Dammit! It's my fault. She seems hurt.
