She look up to his face and found him staring at her as he continue to sing and dance with her slowly.

He gave her a slight smile, his eyes deep as if telling her how sincere he is and before she knew it she was lost in those eyes.

He twirled her slowly making her giggle. She looked so young and innocent and it filled his heart.

He had repeated the song in a faster tempo and they danced and twirled to it. Lara laughed in his arms as her eyes get misty with the memory of her parents. They used to sing and dance in front of her too as she play the piano when she was younger.

The night has a sweet warm atmosphere to it. When he finished the song, he bent her body low, making her long hair touch the floor. His gaze never left her face even for a second.

When his lips went for hers she accepted it willingly. It was a slow passionate kiss. At this moment Lara knew, her heart was spoken for.

This man who could be angry as the devil, cold as the iceberg, who dominated her from the day she met him, had stolen her heart. Even if one day he decides to return it back, she won't regret a bit. Because at least she can remember the times when he had taken care of her, making her feel like a queen, made her laugh and cry, and had sing for her as they dance.

This man is worth all the heartache in the world.

He had let her lips go as they catch their breath. But before they could straighten themselves, a serious cute face appeared next to theirs. His eyes glimmer like the stars obviously hinting mischief but still he sets his lips thinly as he control his giggling.

He showed them his hand, in it a small box is opened revealing a platinum ring with a perfectly cut colorless diamond on top. It shines so brightly Lara had to blinked twice.

Then came the soft sweet voice of her son, asking her,

"Mommy, will you marry Daddy?"

Her heart dropped to the floor! Why is her son proposing to her on his behalf?

Earlier at the spa his sister was doing the same. Before she could even recover, Alex pulled their bodies up. He held both her hands as he kneeled on one knee before her.

It was about three slow seconds before he look up at her. Uncertainty filled his eyes while tears stream down her face.

Why is she crying? Does she feel so pressured by me?

Earlier while the girls was at the spa, he brought Luke around the other areas of the resort. He had asked the little boy what does his mother like. He had told him countless things. Such as how she like dimsums, and spicy soups.

What they do on a daily basis living alone in their house. He had told him his mother was always busy at work but never neglected him a bit as she made sure everything is taken care of before she leave him with her bestfriend Jenny.

That he had never seen or heard anything about his biological father. That it has always been him, Lara and Jenny.

Though Luke's words were simple being the child he is, Alex realized the hard work she had been putting herself into for the past six years. Orphaned before becoming a single mother.

He understood then why she protects herself so much. Why she never involve herself romantically anymore after she had Luke. And the urge to protect her and care and love her all their life consumed his heart in an instant.

Lara returned the hold he has on her hands, they tremble so Alex held it firmer. Such a fragile girl facing the world on her own.

Luke tugged at her skirt impatiently. "Mommy--"

She said "yes" but no voice went out of her mouth. Her tears continue to fall and she smiled feeling ridiculous at herself.

It was good that Alex has a fast reflex otherwise they would both fall on the floor when Lara throw herself at him in a hug. He hugged her tight in an instant.

When she calmed down she turned to face him. Luke giggled as he give the box to Alex who put the ring in her left ring finger.

It fitted perfectly. It was his mother's engagement ring.
