Her heart raced, the smell of cut grass and thunderstorms overwhelming her.
"MATE...MATE" Gryffin yelled in her head. Way too enthusiastically. Could this be it, could this be her forever? She felt the male, grab her waist lightly, and turn her around. Not that she could see him, she was guessing he was about 6 feet tall, towering over her 5-foot frame.
"What's wrong little wolf?" He said softly, his breath fanning her ear. He was entirely too close. She figured he could feel her heart beating.
"Who are you?" Ash stammered.
"Everything you have ever wished for." He said with a hint of a laugh. She wished she could see him, going on scent and smell alone was not doing anything for her besides worrying her. It was so dark, darker than it really should be.
"Did you do this?" She asked, "Make it all dark, to try to scare me?"
"I wish little wolf, something is going on. I couldn't leave you here all alone like that." He said, she could hear the concern in his voice. How could he be like that already we only just met?
"Why haven't you kissed him yet?" Gryffin moaned. "Shut it, it isn't the time." She thought back to her wolf. It wasn't the time. She was in a dark room with many wolves and her potential mate, who still had a hold of her waist. She tried wiggling her way out of his grasp, feeling a little uncomfortable with the touch, but at the same time not wanting him to let her go. He just tightened his fingers.
"I am not letting you go that easy little wolf." He said.
" I don't even know your name," Ash said starting to get a little annoyed. How long would he call her little wolf for? He wasn't wrong she was little but she didn't like hearing it from anyone. It was the main form of bullying she got when she was a pup, on top of her being an orphan, she was a runt. He must have felt the change in her demeanor, as he wrapped his strong arms around her body.
" What did I do?" He asked quietly into her head as he tucked her into him.
"Don't call me little wolf, please," Ash said to him. She breathed in his scent, she couldn't get over the smell. It was so calming to her. She sighed.
" I am sorry." He muttered.
The next thing they knew there was a loud crash, almost like the ceiling was caving in, oh how she wished she could see. She thought about changing into her wolf, but that would do no good. SHe would be a beacon for trouble with her white fur. In the crash, she had almost been pushed away from the man that held her. She could feel the panic all around her, what was going on. Where was her family, were they ok? Then she felt it, almost like someone hit her in the back of the head with a bat. Ash went down to see the stars. She whimpered a little bit. Heart pounding out of her chest, now she was really scared. Her world went even darker if that was even possible.
After what could have been hours or even days, Ash woke up to bright lights surrounding her. She was in a huge white room, like a hospital room, but too secluded. She couldn't hear any outside sounds, couldn't smell anything except for industrial cleaners.
"Where am I? She said quietly to herself. Trying to sit up, then realized that many needles and cords hooked her up. All over her body.
"What the fuck." She said looking around. She tried to talk to Gryffin, but nothing. It was complete silence in her head, and the tears started. She had never been away from her wolf since she was 16, what had they done to her, where was she even. Who took her. Where was the mysterious guy that smelled so good? Ash looked down at her hands, could she have met her mate and had that one shred of happiness taken from her. She never even go to know his name, saw what he looked like.
"What did I do to deserve this." She sighed. Ash wiped the tears from her face willing herself to stop crying and carefully got to her feet, swaying a little. God how long had she been here. Where ever she was they took the liberty of changing her from her ballroom glory and put her into hospital scrubs. Slowly she started pulling sticky cords from her body.
"I wouldn't do that." A small voice came from behind her. Ash nearly jumped out of her skin, turning around she was met with a person, about the same height as her. She couldn't have been more different, dressed in pink scrubs her midnight black hair up into a high pony and, almost purple eyes. Those eyes were somewhat familiar to her. She didn't know how though.
The female slowly walked over to Ash, her hands out as if to say I won't hurt you.
"Who are you?" Ash growled. Baring her teeth at her. What that hurt she saw in the girl's eyes. How could it of been she didn't know this person?
"I am Misty." She said quietly. "And you are in the Storm River pack currently." She stated.
