Chapter 1

People say I need help, or that I'm crazy. My parents say a lot worse than that. I ask them to help me and they call me a disappointment, I am a tarnish to their name. They have taken me to psychiatrists who say nothing is wrong with me, they just don't believe me, they don't want to...

I have known Ally since I was 8. We met when I started at my new school. I was that weird girl who no one wanted to talk to, who everyone looked down on, but Ally started to talk to me and we immediately became friends. She loved animals and always chose the most dangerous things over staying in and watching a movie. She was that popular girl who all the boys found pretty and she always made me feel better than I really was, giving me an escape from being the disappointment, but now that she's gone I feel even worse. Ally was the one who introduced me to Ethan. The first time I saw him my cheeks burned and I couldn't look directly at him. Ethan hung out with all the popular boys but whenever I looked at him I could tell that he was nothing like them. It was like that every time I saw him. When we finally started talking and hanging out, I realised; he was the one for me.

My "problem'' and the reason my parents took me to psychiatrists is that on my 11th birthday I started to feel like people were following me; and they still are. Because of this, to this day, every corner I turn they follow me. I can't talk to my friends over the phone. I had proof on what was happening, I showed Ally and I hid it. But when I woke up the next morning, it was gone. I asked my parents about it and they said it wasn't good that I had it, I argued relentlessly with them; that was the first time my father slapped me. I think they had something to do with it, the following, the listening. Everything. So I left and went to stay with Ally. But there was still no escape.
